Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
there are plenty of posts in threads written by people that makes my stomach turn
I either argue the point or move on & ignore the thread
I dont call for the posts to banned removed or worse run to the mods like a momma's boy
clearly plenty of people find this subject of interest

just gunna quote myself
in honour of Mart being back in the fray
(‘n thank god for that)
anyways
i re read my little rant this morning
‘n i go
yea
(and this is why)
we got smashed at primary school
in footy and cricket
... won one game of cricket
i was in the side in grade 3
thats how desperate we were
we got smashed at high school
won the odd few
there’s my formative history
st kilda’ s history is about the same
where’s the DO WHATEVER IT TAKES
with this mob in rw+b
eradicate the pencil pushers
and the chicken legs for starters
they don’t burn.
Skeptic was on the money with his post regarding the goodwill we have built with the freeing of salary cap space for the Swans when we took Hannas off their books. We had to change our destiny instead of waiting for it to ‘just’ somehow happen.
DO WHATEVER IT TAKES
There is now a grand plan in place and it involves getting Luketh Parker. If we can somehow grab Lukey to add to Timmy, Danny and Zaccy, it will help secure an addition to the cabinet in cupeth number 2...and there you have it. If you build it ....and if you pay them well, silverware will come!
Am I right or what??!!

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
Re Parker
1/ He is a leader at Sydney and unlikely to move
2/ Our cap is about Maxed out therefore can’t afford him
3/ He is a decent player, but no better than Steele or Crouch so not an immediate need
What we should of done is draft him in 2010 as an 18yo from Dandenong Stingrays where he dominated, instead of Jamie Cripps from WA

Jamie Cripps. The 100 plus game, premiership player for the WCE? That Jamie Cripps?

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
Yes
The GOP forward pocket who averages about a goal a game in a powerhouse team.
Yes, he is a premiership player, thanks to Shuey, McGovern,Yeo, Huron and Co.
He has been a better player than I thought he would be after I saw him s*** himself in a VFL game vs Frankston (got sprayed by coach and Kosi at the time). But at the end of the day, he was recruited as a HB with the hope of transitioning to the midfield and ended up a small forward with not that many tricks. Besides running forward of the ball in a gun team.

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
I guess he didn't have a profile photo when he was drafted, either. His career measures up pretty well. The fact he has been a permanent fixture in a side as good as the WCE in his entire career speaks volumes.B.M wrote: ↑Tue 16 Feb 2021 7:06pm Yes

I trust the judgment of the WCE recruiting way ahead of yours, teach. Permanent fixture in a premiership team and perennial finalist. They must have found that profile pic.

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
Andrew McQualter was a permanent fixture in the StK side from 08-2011
How did you rate him??

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
My opinion, like yours doesn't matter when selecting the team. Lyon and co. Obviously, they rated McQualter. Just as the WCE did with Cripps. You don't. That says more about your judgment than theirs. I'm going with theirs thanks, teach.

Re: Guess who has a calf strain?
I don't know, but you famously thought it disqualified him from being drafted, so you tell me.
Photos are essential if you want to get drafted. You have to make sure they get your best side. Get it wrong and you miss out. You know that!

Interesting draft 2010, probably the lowest talent pool in memory.B.M wrote: ↑Tue 16 Feb 2021 12:27pm Re Parker

Would be hard to beat for a worse top 10 or 20.
Parker at #40 possibly the best player in the draft (retrospectively) along with (begrudgingly) Lynch #11.
