Beat West Coast twice?SaintJohno wrote: ↑Mon 21 Dec 2020 8:41pm Yeah fk it. Let's play the best twice. We're a chance to beat West Coast twice, Sydney twice and maybe the Tiges have had enough so we might get 1. Geelong may be tough but I feel like we match up against Port pretty well so maybe 1 or 2 out of 3. The rest will take care of itself. Glass half full.
Don't think so.
Only had one win against them since 2012.
Same with the Swans - only the one win against them since 2013.
My take - We should beat them both in Melbourne though.
Same with Port - they'll beat us in Adelaide and we'll beat them here at home, and I think we have proven we have what it takes to beat Richmond at the Docklands.
Won't beat Geelong during the season again if I'm being honest - they outclass us every time, but it's very likely we'll beat them in the practice match at Moorabbin in March.

There's truth in what you say Saynta - in fact, we could have played the Suns up there (we were supposed to play them in Darwin last year and played them in Townsville in '19).saynta wrote: ↑Mon 21 Dec 2020 5:33pm "In line with the current fixture arrangement, the Saints will travel interstate seven times, including to Cairns in Round 13 against Adelaide in place of the China game."
I don't see why the saints have to forgo a home match at Marvel to play an Adelaide side in f****** Cairns as there is nothing in it for us.
If the AFL really want to promote football in FNQ why not use the Gold Coast or the Lions FFS.
That would make far more sense.
I think we'll win the game as the Crows will struggle a bit next year, but it does seem a very random pairing for mine.

Neither of those teams are what you would call popular in FNQ.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Mon 21 Dec 2020 10:59pmThere's truth in what you say Saynta - in fact, we could have played the Suns up there (we were supposed to play them in Darwin last year and played them in Townsville in '19).saynta wrote: ↑Mon 21 Dec 2020 5:33pm "In line with the current fixture arrangement, the Saints will travel interstate seven times, including to Cairns in Round 13 against Adelaide in place of the China game."

Adelaide has been a good pathway for the NT and the Saints have a strong connection to NT.
Traditional Skin connections from NT to FNQ are strong.
It makes more sense than what you would think.

Re: 2021 fixture
Meanwhile, Collingwood gets 14 games at the MCG. Typical.
Anyway, I reckon we are going to be a good enough side that we can rise above a tough fixture.

Re: 2021 fixture
12 at Metricon and 3 in Queensland isn't bad.
I rang to upgrade my interstate memberships today, for a chance at GF tickets. Anyway the lad on the phone tells me there is 9000 GF tickets allotted to Ultimate Qld memberships.
7000 have been sold already. Now the draw is released, they expect the rest will be gone in a couple of weeks. That's a good thing.

And here is me, thinking you were a bad ass Palawa Renegade, crusading all the way from Van Diemens Land, across quarantined borders, just to meet up with me at the Metricon Tea Cup.

haha
out with bad ass , vdl , quarantines
but in with ... see ya at Metricon
two of my memberships are Ultimate Interstate (Queensland)
i might upgrade the Daughters in NSW
to Ultimate as well ... that seems like a smart move
i’d get a kick
out of taking the girls to a Granny
they can sort out EVERYTHING
(where we are + where we are going)
after the final siren
and how to get there
all roads leading to Linton St
would be my suggestion
coz i’ll be the one blubbering in the corner

Re: 2021 fixture
The only team I'm worried about is Geelong. All the other games are winnable.
The cats keep on smashing us and we can't afford for it to keep on happening because their confidence against us is telling.
We need to beat them during the regular fixture because it's inevitable that we'll meet them in the finals.

Re: 2021 fixture
My take on the draw...challenge accepted!
I don't think we now need to be the team to always look for favourable draws, no interstate games, etc. if we're after a 2nd (or more) flag. We've got to basically understand to win the lot, you've got to beat (more or less) the lot and you're going to have to do it when conditions, turnaround between games, and unfavourable crowds go against us. Bring on the blockbusters, beat Brisbane in Brisbane, beat Beagles in Perth, at home and away...bring it on!!

West Coast, Collingwood, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Sydney, as well as Adelaide all hold similar form against us.bakes wrote: ↑Tue 22 Dec 2020 8:13am The only team I'm worried about is Geelong. All the other games are winnable.

We may have beaten three of these seven teams this year, but form lines don't lie and now that we have a much improved spread of talent, particularly in the midfield, we need to continue winning interstate as regularly as we did last season.

Re: 2021 fixture
Yeah it is a tough draw but the bottom line is we don't have any say in it If we are good enough to make the finals then so be it but if we aren't we need to get better , no point whinging about the draw just man up & give it a crack IMO

Re: 2021 fixture
We could go undefeated at Marvel next year, we will be a force there.
If we’re good enough we’ll make and win finals, the draw is irrelevant. Just an excuse used by some who I’m guessing have a lot of them in their life.

Re: 2021 fixture
Just get one of the boys who might be on the fringe of best 22. to maybe....punch Selwoods lights out...like a quick jab to the jaw or right in the moosh and then half our boys come in to support and draw a bloody line in the sand!! Or we just get ruthless and follow Longy's lead and just attack each contest and make each hit count. Make a statement that we want them to be our bitch instead of pussies ruling saintsbakes wrote: ↑Tue 22 Dec 2020 8:13am The only team I'm worried about is Geelong. All the other games are winnable.
