They are seriously good!

They're not household names but the club did an absolute ripping job when they recruited them!!

And from the same draft as Coff and Hunter ... pound for pound - Ben Paton will be their equal.

I don’t like looking backward but Richos go to was always the older experienced but limited player.
I wonder if Coff & Paton would have got consistent game time and opportunity as they did under Ratten.
Coff was a stand out to me last year, yes he got the lose intercept role but he puts himself in the right spots and is courageous in the air and very assured by foot. The 4 intercept marks in the last 1/4 of the final V Bulldogs blunted their surge. Coff could be the best of the bunch IMO and will end up on a wing where his height, marking in defense and kicking into the forward half will be deadly.
Paton has all the tools of a great defender as he can lock down but also knows when to attack and run such as the elimination final.
Clark is a very skilled silky play who has enormous time with ball in hand and belief in himself. A more permanent midfield role awaits but he has to become a two way runner. He’s a right footed Dal Santo type which is extreme praise.
Huge, huge Howard fan, could be club VC IMO.
Probably my favorite player along with Roma.
Was very excited to get this guy to the club, if we had another big lock down defender I wonder how he would go as the intercept marking player. He’s big, athletic, fast and passionate about the team.

Paton's speed is underestimated. Once he gains confidence he will start to take players on. It's the same with Coffield. That are both very quick across the ground.
Josh Battle is another who has huge improvement in him. He's still very young. With some added strength he will be a handful for opponents. We are also yet to see the best of Ben Long.
The mystery player is Bytel. Although not setting the world on fire this year, he showed he has sure hands and composure in the claustrophobic chaos of stoppages

Bytel reminded me of Greg Williams.

Re: How good are these players? Fair dinkum!
Totally agree with all the comments in this thread, there's no doubt in my mind that the current list is as good as it's ever been in the past 20 years, and has great potential to get that elusive 2nd Preniership Cup!
So much improvement still to come in many players, for example if Bradley Hill and Dan Hannebery find their best form, which neither have produced to date, that will make a huge difference. Then there's Winx - he should put some bulk on that skinny frame in the off-season and will become unstoppable in the air in the forward 50.
Josh Battle - he's only 22 and at 193 cm can play just about anywhere around the ground, but consider him to become like Fyfe and Bontempelli and spend some time through the middle; just imagine what impact that would have on the team....
Easy to get a bit carried away, but hell, there's much to get really excited about right now.

Most of the players mentioned so far in this thread get a game every week except Bytel and Higgins (who is new). Who does Bytel and Higgins (and Crouch) come in for?

I hate that guy injuries.
He never does anything, haven't seen him get a kick ever.
He handicaps our team.
Delist him now.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
