I just hope we have more than the word of the Richmond doctor that his "brain bleed" issues are over!

Yes and no. I mean - I love Shaun but, he'll be 33 at the start of next season. He's been really durable but, he wouldn't want to cop a soft tissue injury. Might have 2 or 3 more years in him.

I hate to say this but I have heard from my mate that Richmond are very close to walking away. We should just get the deal done. Give them our future second, the pick we get for Hind and swap our FRDP's for this year. Surely Richmond would be happy with that?

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

As long as we don't overpay for a player that may have ongoing medical issues.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 5:11pmThey are pissed off because we reamed then on the Butler deal last year.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 5:08pmWho is Richmond's list manager, Dildo's brother ?SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 4:57pm I hate to say this but I have heard from my mate that Richmond are very close to walking away. Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE
2nd round next year and switch fiorst this year seems fair.
If they want a first round pick then walk away . This is a guy who couldnt get a game in best 22 this year, only reason second round is under contract so have to pay more.
Here is the offer Richmond flip first rounders , our second next year ( whcih basically increases the value of the second rounder) , take it or leave it.
Get him for cheaper next year

Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE
I hope you're joking because that's simply not true. They're happy for us and Butler - most of their supporters are the same (as you would be after you've just won your 3rd flag in 4 years).SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 5:11pmThey are pissed off because we reamed then on the Butler deal last year.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 5:08pmWho is Richmond's list manager, Dildo's brother ?SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 4:57pm I hate to say this but I have heard from my mate that Richmond are very close to walking away. The issue is that Higgins was a 1st rd draft choice for a reason - he's a bloody good player. Butler barely played in their 2019 year; Higgins played 10 of 17 games this year.
If we can get Jack for a future 2nd round pick and the pick we (may) get for Hind then we'll have fair dinkum stolen him.
As some one said above - I think a swap of 2020 firsts with Richmond and our future second would be pretty fair value.

Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE
Jack Higgins was of no interest to the Cats. They might yet offer him a five-year contract, though.
On his 31st birthday!

Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE
From The Age this evening.
“Meanwhile, Richmond and St Kilda are still at loggerheads over Tiger Jack Higgins, with Richmond seeking an exchange of this year's first round picks, plus St Kilda's future second. St Kilda holds pick 17 compared to Richmond's pick 21 in this year's first round. The Saints have offered only the future second pick.”

Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE
Fair enough, let’s do it.
We get Higgins , we still get a good player at pick 21 this year and the key is that we are using it to draft a kid which then allows us to not have to use our first round pick next year. we keep the 2021 first round pick aswell as having a 2022 first round pick so that we can land a big fish in next years trade period.

We didn't know Hannebery's soft tissue issues were resolved. That knowledge or lack there of is not an issue.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 5:19pmThat's what worries me too. Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE
I cannot believe you of all supporters would say that Saintmatt, you've always been reasonable in assessments. Hannerbery was shite against Richmond. It was his lack of continuity in his games that contributed to that. It was Ryder that won us the first final & he not being there against Richmond was more telling.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Wed 11 Nov 2020 10:45amPersonally, I couldn't care less if Hanners only gets wheeled-out for important games and finals from here on in. He was instrumental in the Dogs final and the GWS final round win. He's the class cream on top. Play 1 in 3 or 4 games and I'm just fine with that.
To say Hannerbery can play one in four is ludicrous. That makes him a $3.2 million player a year. He's not that. He's $700K a season if he plays every game. I hope he does play every game, he needs to build a season, he needs to lead St Kilda in every game.
