New look team in 24 month period
Anyone else getting the feeling we are going to let go some more players from the Richo era. E.g. Dunstan, Webster, Lonie, McKenzie
A side fielded in 2019 is going to look nothing like the side in Rd 1 2021.
Whatever the club is doing, they are killing it and I'm backing them in.

Re: New look team in 24 month period
Agreed. We seem to be killing it as of late
Remember when a shock announcement from the club was that the signed Dmac for 3 more years and extended Joyce’s contract for 2.
Really highlights just how mediocre the Richo reign was and how bad we were at rating our internal talent

Paton Howard Wilkie
Coffield Carlisle Long
Hannebery Jones Hill
Membrey King Billings
Butler Marshall Gresham
Ryder Steele Crouch
Clark Sinclair Battle Ross
The above team is good enough to win the premiership next year. But do we have the depth in case we get hit by injuries? That is the burning question.

I think that the 22 that have the best chance to win the Saints their 2nd flag will look different to your squad, time will tell.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Fri 23 Oct 2020 4:07pm Paton Howard Wilkie

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

But as you say, chances of having them all fit and available in our last game will be slim.
Just a hunch, but you do get the feeling that there are plans for at least one moneyball pick (like Butler last year) to be added to that squad.

It’s a good team but whose the ever reliable superstar that leads the way.
Most premiership teams have at least one
Could be Steele I guess though Clark could also grow into it

Re: New look team in 24 month period
I don’t think that 22 is that great tbh...
maybe 4th?
The back three are solid.
On ever other line we have players who can go missing in action, through injury or just zoned out.
HB Line : Long good, wild and not so good. Carlisle - effort patchy, Centre - Hannebery If we get 12 games out of him, well be doing well. Jones Hammies. Hill..i don’t know about his hammies...superb but some say he hasn’t integrated into the team game yet, Half forward line, Membrey can have a stinker, go missing or put his boots on the wrong way around. Billings is good, he pops up...perhaps he can be more consistent, who knows? King...obvioulsy a huge talent but drops plenty of marks, misses plenty, still learning..FF line ..Butler can have - like all small forwards very quiet days, and blinders. Gresh...super, can’t wait, but he has played in way more losing matches than winning ones. Marshall, obviously a star too, but at FF? Followers good. Bench solid. It looks to me like a 4-6 like team, but better than before.
Our fixture will be tougher next year.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Lloydo and co say we over achieved this year, and drop us to about 8th for ‘21 predictions. (Once the dust has settled and its January again)

Re: New look team in 24 month period
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, yes we have made great strides over the last 12 months BUT we still have a little way to go getting to the Richmond, Geelong, Brisbane & to a lesser extent, West coast stage.
On the plus side, we have some really talented youth that still has an upside...exciting times ahead with such a terrific off-field crew.
