Re: Brown on Steele for the Brownlow
It always makes me smile how odds & whispers change the landscape of betting for the Brownlow well after the final H&A. It would not have anything to do with the bookies & betting agencies standing to lose on one result OR not enough "action" coming their way, would it?

Could well be, but this is a 17 game season so you wont need much more than 20 votes to win imhfo.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sun 18 Oct 2020 4:09pm It always makes me smile how odds & whispers change the landscape of betting for the Brownlow well after the final H&A. Steele has 7 BOG's . That's 21 votes.
Should end up top 3 at least.

I hope so too. For your sake as well.
If I was a betting man I would have had a wager on the boy as well.
4th favorite now paying $19.00

Re: Brown on Steele for the Brownlow
Brownlow always brings back fond memories for me from 2005. After my wedding at Southport Courthouse on Sept 10, my new brother in law and I went to a pub to get supplies for after party We popped into the bar for a beer and I perused the odds for the Brownlow. Much to my surprise, Daniel Kerr was 35-1 to finish top 5! I knew he’d had a good year despite missing some games. I whacked $5 on him
Anyway a couple weeks later I was at work on the night of the Count. I’d arranged for my brother in Vic to txt me results.
The rest is history: Cousins wins, Kerr second by 1 vote!.
The easiest $175 I’ve ever made. Still cannot believe how the bookies f***ed that up!!!!

As a 17 and 18 year old I put $5 on Harvey both years he won. He was paying $30 the first year and $25 the next year. I benefited from everyone’s love affair with Hird, Buckley and Voss

Wasn’t Banger a favourite in 98? $25 is ridiculous odds. He s*** it in lolGoose is king wrote: ↑Sun 18 Oct 2020 5:23pm As a 17 and 18 year old I put $5 on Harvey both years he won. Banger was a better footballer than any one of those three. At least bucks realises that now.Goose is king wrote: ↑Sun 18 Oct 2020 5:23pm As a 17 and 18 year old I put $5 on Harvey both years he won. It still amazes me that Harves never gets mentioned with those 3. It really is a Fab 4, not the Bee Gees plus Andy.Goose is king wrote: ↑Sun 18 Oct 2020 5:23pm As a 17 and 18 year old I put $5 on Harvey both years he won. Let's see who gets votes out of B Hill, Newnes and Acres?

I would have thought that Paddy, Butler and Marshall would take a lot of votes off him.

Dunstan is the only Saints player to score a vote in round 1 and gets dropped not to play again for the season.

Re: Brown on Steele for the Brownlow
Well done Steele for getting so many votes but also well done to Neale. Listening to the interview now and he seems like a good fellow.
This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:

And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge

Maybe we pumped up his trade value. Polled in every appearance. Hope we keep him. I’d like to see how he goes in a good side.
