Season 2020
Well, personally I dont have time crackin the sads.
I predicted we'd win 8-10 games and if we won 10 I'd call it a success.
Well fecking done lads!!!!
So many highlights, great trades, class of 2017 ripping the lid off, new coach coming on, membership climbing, so much to celebrate don't get down.
I see the gaps. We need a strong senior forward to compliment our lads. We need a slick inside speedster mid, we need another ruck either to develop under Ryder's eye or a ready replacement for Ryder.
So much to do and some real gaddamn energy going into 2021!
Love ya Sainters!!!!

Re: Season 2020
Great season guys!
Another pre season for our young guys and maybe a good mid added we will be right up there next year.

Proud of the effort, good to see us bounce back after years of mediocrity
Hopefully we get fitter, bigger and cut some dead weight

Re: Season 2020
Too right! A few more key players, another pre-season...can you imagine King, Coffield, Clarke, Butler, Marshall, Battle and Steele all healthy and chomping to rip some damn heads off in 2021?!
What a bright future!!

Re: Season 2020
Good effort to play into the 2nd week of the finals.
Let's hope our 55th rebuild or restumping gets us closer.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Even though we won 2 of the last 3 ... I can now clearly see why we have a significant interest in Ben Brown. I’m ok with that. I can see him helping Max and Tim a lot
Go you red, black & white warriors

Re: Season 2020
Plenty of positives.
But need to have a successful trade period.
Are we capable of top 4?
It will be the expectation for 2021.
Over to you recruiting department.

Re: Season 2020
A good year overall very proud of the effort. A pity we lost the 3 players for the last game but all in all pretty content

Re: Season 2020
Here's my quick take on the season:
At the start of the year I thought that we could finish anywhere from 6th to 12th. So it's a big tick from me!
Something that I think counted against us was that we had a new coach and gameplan but the circumstances this year meant that it couldn't be trained properly so it's not as instinctive as it is for other teams (Richmond, Collingwood, Geelong etc.). Add to that an influx of new first-pick players and cementing the gameplan was always going to be hard. So under intense pressure (e.g. Finals) it can disintegrate which is what we saw a few times.
Also think that we lack an elite midfielder that can impose themselves on the game, particularly when other teams have momentum as shown in the North and Fremantle games.
Anyway, that's my 2c!
Cheers!

Re: Season 2020
I had us finishing between 6-10 at the end of the minor round , so about where I thought.
Last few home and away games were a bit disappointing (putting that down to younger players getting tired) - as were the fade outs. Overall we played a much better brand of footy. Unlucky to not have 4 of our best players available last night as we would have given Richmond a real shake .
Get the feeling that a number of players learnt a lot over the last 2 games.
Awesome moneyball recruiting to fill some gaps , although we haven’t worked out how Hill and our game plan go together. I’m sure the better we get as a team, the better Hill will get.
Still carrying a few players in our best 25 that can’t execute basic skills well enough under pressure and quite frankly would be lucky to be in the top 30 at a top 4 club. Hopefully some new ins and the likes of Bytel and Byrnes have a massive pre season.
Club is headed in the right direction and I can’t wait to see what 2021 brings .

Re: Season 2020
Hey Zed - was 6-10 your prediction at the end of last year - or ...... if it was before the season - well done!

Re: Season 2020
I hope they don't delist any of the kids, Langlands, Bell or Connelly.
For mine Brown, McKenzie, Lonie, Savage, Abbott and Dunstan should be the ones delisted or traded.
Joyce and Parker gone
Logan and Clav keepers at this point.
Mayo will be the unlucky one.
