You really are a downerSaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Wed 30 Sep 2020 4:35pm Now that Battle has been ruled out I fear that we are no chance. Battle kept his defender last week to no interceot marks in our F50. This is the one stat that has killed us this year and unfortunately we lose this with Battle being injured. Oh well, it's been a good season but the end is nigh.
Look out kids, they keep it all hid

Yes. i could. But it would take me 30 to 45 minutes. MUCH better things to do. Here is an idea ... stop destroyng footy posts with stupid squabbles so they don't have to be cleaned up.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

I have heard that Marsh will come in for Battle and Jones for Lonnie. Both outs are injured

I really hope your wrong Marsh is simply not up to it, bring in Webster, Roberton, Dunstan or Phillips!!!SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Thu 01 Oct 2020 11:29pm I have heard that Marsh will come in for Battle and Jones for Lonnie. Both outs are injured

Dickson has been the Bulldog who has caused us a lot of headaches over the years and he won't be there as he has retired and left the Hub.
That is potentially four goals they won't kick tomorrow for a start.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
Yes it was - North made it with only 12 wins in 2016 and a % of only 105%. We had 116% this year. Clearly in. Plus out % of games won is almost 59% as against 55% for a 12 win season in a 22 match season.takeaway wrote: ↑Fri 25 Sep 2020 8:32amI think what Vortex is saying, is that whilst we had a great win vs GWS, we won only 2 of the last 5, and were slipping down the ladder. Extrapolate that record for another 5 matches and we finish on 12 wins, which is right on the edge, and in 2016 wasn't enough. Hopefully, the confidence gained from the GWS win will change that trend.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Thu 24 Sep 2020 8:33pmNow I'm no Stephen Hawking, but 10 wins from 17 matches is around a 59% winning ratio when extrapolated to 22 matches that % gives us 13 wins, the number of wins that gets you 6th or 7th place every year.
Two of those losses were by two and three points - against very good opposition (one of which was gifted to our opposition through an extremely controversial goal being awarded).
St Kilda were very unlucky not to have won both of them - how many matches have our opposition this week won against Top 8 sides? One, by only two points, and that was by way of a very fortunate (and some would say incorrect) goal being awarded. We on the other hand have lost four matches by a goal or less this season. But t none of this matters now because we have made it and face the same challenges as our opposition.
I am glad we're not drinking our own bathwater but I am bullish about our chances tomorrow afternoon.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
It’s a shame about but, while I’d rather have him in the side, he won’t be reason we win or lose. Jones will be in, Battle out. I’m not sure there will be other changes. The team has been pretty stable for awhile.
I certainly can’t see anyone who hasn’t played much,if at all, this year coming in at this stage.
Saints by 111 points!

I mean theres always going to be one in or out of the team. Thats the nature of footy. Battle out wont change how we look overall. Is he even top 10 in our list right now? Im sure i could find 10 id pick each week before him. Lets be grateful we have our engine room guys all looking to be 100% ready to go, Hannerbury back is huge, Jones back in, Steele looking to be fresh. We all g.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
A strange way to announce the team.
Jones (hamstring) will return for Josh Battle (foot) in St Kilda's sole change, while Ratten said Hannebery (hamstring) had benefited greatly from the week off and spent it training harder than most.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
According to the poster who watched training match sim on Wednesday Lonie trained very well.
If that’s correct Jones will replace Battle.
In some ways strengthening our midfield against the dogs might be a good thing.

The great thing about the current saints team is how even it is. On any given week different players have shown up in the best list with Steele being the only true consistent.shadrock wrote: ↑Fri 02 Oct 2020 12:23pm I mean theres always going to be one in or out of the team. Battle will be missed but it won't devastate the team and Jones, although not like for like , is a more than adequate replacement.

Mmnnn. ...we lose 194cm Battle and they get 195cm Naughton back in.
If Lonie and Jones come in without a tall, I wonder. Getting nervous.
