Jack Steven out for final
Hmmm maybe he was only worth a 4th round pick after all.
its time to make a name for yourself like you've never made before!

It went to Freo as part of Hill deal.
Shame it wasn't the #56 that went to Richmond for Butler.
Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.

Re: Jack Steven out for final
What a fall from grace - we all complained when Geelong wouldnt cough up a decent pick at trade. But it seems they were on the money Stuv is simply not prepared to put the work in to stay at the top level any more.
Tragic to see how out of sync players can become with their recreational distractions.

The fate of two former saints.
Fatso out, tin man in.
Fatso left the saints because he wanted to be closer to home and also he wanted to play finals.
Karma bus has hit him big time.
Saints are playing finals but he ain't.
Plus he is further from home than ever before.

Who'd have thought shagger would become a spud as his AFL career winds down.
More to the point, WGAF.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

No, what we were dirty on was getting FA for him and having to part-pay the rest of his contract!Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Wed 30 Sep 2020 8:33pm What a fall from grace - we all complained when Geelong wouldnt cough up a decent pick at trade. Interesting. His numbers were better then Kent’s who was playing up the ground last week.

THIS! We are paying for him to sit on his fat arse in sun drenched luxury. Yes, we should have received a better pick but give Geelong credit, they know their cattle.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Wed 30 Sep 2020 9:50pmNo, what we were dirty on was getting FA for him and having to part-pay the rest of his contract!Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Wed 30 Sep 2020 8:33pm What a fall from grace - we all complained when Geelong wouldnt cough up a decent pick at trade. Now they must pay for him. Let's hope they have to pay for Brad Crouch as well. They are one, maybe two seasons from where Hawthorn is now.

Re: Jack Steven out for final
Have no pitty for Jack made his own bed & now has to lie in it. He was very good for us, it's shame he might go down as a Geelong reject instead of a Saints legend at the end of his career. If he gets a recall & they go on & win a flag I might have to eat humble pie but will have to wait & see what pans out

Re: Jack Steven out for final
Why write him off?
Still a chance to feature in Geelong's other finals.

When he was with us, he had put on weight and only played forward IIRC, because he had no endurance.Waltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Thu 01 Oct 2020 3:06am Why write him off?

Seems he's been in a good paddock at Sleepy Hollow as well, only the best players can get picked in a final and Jackie is nowhere near a recall.
Next year he'll play, but only as depth

Re: Jack Steven out for final
You stated the reason you originally gave him the title of ‘Dud’ was because of his kicking
Anyone who saw the match against Adelaide, where Steven was given a chance to cement his place, would understand why he was dropped. He can’t hit targets by foot. Doesn’t suit Geelong‘s game plan.

Think it got out that it was a domestic from memory? Unless I’m wrong. Wasn’t the case though as the hospital got the legitimate version.

Geez, there are some nasty people around here. There is so much to be positive about yet some would rather be a misery guts and stick the boot into a former club champion. I hope that Stuv is in a good place and I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds a way in before the season is done.

Well said. Not much grace or empathy on display. He’s not the first player to late in his career leave a club he’s served well. Clearly he has some inner demons he’s wrestling with. Hope he finds a happy placeoutside66 wrote: ↑Thu 01 Oct 2020 10:21am Geez, there are some nasty people around here.
