How many Saints have had finals experience?
Hanners, Butler, Geary, ???
I’m thinking about the Bulldogs and their smashing last year in the Elimination Final and any advantage they may have as a result of seeking avenge their lost pride. (I’m sure that is not correct English, but I know what I mean)

You make a good point Shane. Hopefully they are still scarred by the loss and it's playing on their minds.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Tue 22 Sep 2020 9:36pm Hanners, Butler, Geary, ???

I have never felt that or understood that psychological state you mention..and i know it is often used to make a point.SaintPelican66 wrote: ↑Tue 22 Sep 2020 9:52pmYou make a good point Shane. Personally, in my experience, if i get a public smashing, and I am compelled to appear before the courts a second time, I come out fighting like a biatch,
However, if it is not an organized thing...e.g. say i got humiliated in a social situation, at a bar, at work in a certain room, or whatever, yes, then Yes, I definitely hide like a pussy.
But this is a game. It is decided and there will be a bell to start it and finish it, and there will be a few thousand watching it at the ground (I don’t think the 20K crowd the AFL suggest will emerge - I would say Adelaide people don’t give a flying about either team - but there is still a final and a record and a decent TV audience , and of course ‘legacy’. What did you do in 2020? We made the finals and we made an impact vs we made the finals and got smashed.
I am so happy that we have so many players with finals experience and if it is a battle between scar tissue and triumph of the will (thanks Hitler) I hope that our boys somehow make the psychological equation a positive.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

I just wouldn’t have dreamed we had so much finals experience. These lads can talk to the others this week.
Here I was assuming we had a major disadvantage to the Bulldogs because of last year. Bullies will still be hellbent on avenging their loss last year, but we might have a lot more poise than I assumed.
Dan Hannebery - 21 finals!! Geez..Sounds like he played in the First World War!
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Pretty sure Brad Hill played in 3 premierships.
"It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress."
