SS Bannings
Has anyone noticed the drop in bannings on here exponentially with our rise up the ladder?

Re: SS Bannings
I think it took people a while to get used to the new rules and not just out-and-out abuse each other!
I find it odd tho how the mods allow a couple of trolls (Ted/Johnny/more, SK/vortex/more) to continually rack up week bans and just come back under another name and continue on where they left off?
What’s the point of the bans in the first place then?

All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Re: SS Bannings
And your obvious potshot at another poster by the continued use of your avatar for a lengthy period? I'm sure it doesn't bother him/her but if we're going to apply the rules then I would have thought you were breaking the one of disrespecting/abusing another poster.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 20 Sep 2020 11:24am I think it took people a while to get used to the new rules and not just out-and-out abuse each other!

Been here a long time, never received a week ban. If the mods have a problem with my behaviour I’m sure they would have let me know by now.Mr Magic wrote: ↑Sun 20 Sep 2020 11:47amAnd your obvious potshot at another poster by the continued use of your avatar for a lengthy period? I’ve had lots of images in my avatar, whatever I put in there seems to upset somebody for some reason...

Do what I do . Don't have an avatar. That way you cannot upset anyone.
Wouldn't have a clue who dud's avatar is anyway, much less how it could upset anybody.

It is a catch22. Without the so called trolls, a number of posters on the forum would have very little relevance at all.

I have the best avatar.

Re: SS Bannings
I have often wondered why the Administrators allow individuals to post under more than one name as it damages the integrity of this forum.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 20 Sep 2020 11:24am I think it took people a while to get used to the new rules and not just out-and-out abuse each other!

There is no point whatsoever in banning an individual, as for example has happened to "Secret Kiel" who signed up in October 2019 and has racked up almost 1800 posts since then, which indicates to me that he/she may well be, or has been in the past, on this forum under more than one pseudonym.
It is also quite likely (and certainly possible) that there are individuals who have more than one persona on this forum who are "Jekyll & Hyde" and post contradictory stuff for the hell of it, often to stir....
It would be interesting to hear the Administrators view on this subject because I feel this forum would be improved without people suffering from DIDs (dissociative identity disorder)!
When one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison..

Richardson leaving was the pressure release valve, that had been festering for 6 years.

Re: SS Bannings
Yes Asiu. “The art of trolling”
Some peanuts get a kick out of it but at the end of the day they have nothing better to do For example Ted and his latest incarnations. After each Banning he would refine his skill
His latest incarnation albeit annoying is nowhere near as annoying as his earlier guises
and their kryptonite is to ignore which is what I do to the latest incarnation of Ted Who knows maybe he grew up
There will be more

Re: SS Bannings
When someone has repeatedly been banned I tend to agree that person should be banned permanently, whatever nic they return with. VPNs can complicate identification but it’s usually pretty obvious by the posting style who the ‘returned’ poster is.

You should see what happens on St Kilda facebook groups. No moderators at all.
I don't agree with VPN bans. Ban the user and when they come back with a new user they usually are a lot better.
