Paddy Ryder
Great get and the Marshall Ryder combo is really working. Both are playing their roles very well.
Wish we had Paddy for 5 years, not 3.

Re: Paddy Ryder
He’s a fantastic player. Don’t know about five years, but so long as he still has his leap he can contribute. He’s in his prime as a ruckman now really.

Just pleased we have him. Offers so much more than Hickey and Longer ever could, don't ya reckon?

I always feel confident at the center bounces when Ryder is in there

Re: Paddy Ryder
Same thought it was a waste of money, potentially detrimental to Marshall and after rnd 1,2 and 3 thought that yep I was right.
Then came rnds 8 onwards and changed my mind.....

Re: Paddy Ryder
+1 Except that I did not think that he was a waste. I thought that he could be a handy back up, and if played more that it would impede Marshall.
I certainly think that at the start it did impede Marshall, but the two have gelled very well now.

Re: Paddy Ryder
He’s an outstanding tap ruckman, which has allowed us to use Marshall in other roles to great effect.
Speaking of which, if I was Ratts I’d play Marshall as the deep forward on Thursday or at least swap he and King around depending on circumstances. King doesn’t quite have the upper body strength and experience yet against some of the more seasoned defenders.

Yes but due to age will probably only play 3 years too.SaintPav wrote: ↑Mon 07 Sep 2020 3:30pmIs Paddy signed for 3 years?johnearljames wrote: ↑Mon 07 Sep 2020 2:53pm Great get and the Marshall Ryder combo is really working. Both are playing their roles very well.

Re: Paddy Ryder
Agree, last year he was overweight and lacked mobility, I was disappointed we took him.
He's certainly fitter this year and still has his leap and played good footy.
Very happy to be wrong about Paddy.

Its funny he was always one of those players I watched from afar and thought 'It would be great if he played at our club.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Tue 08 Sep 2020 9:43pmAgree, last year he was overweight and lacked mobility, I was disappointed we took him.

When we got him I was happy but also thought realistically his best was behind him and he was back up. But now he's doing the things that made me want him in our team again! He's been fantastic this season. Been another very astute move from our club. Gee we've nailed our picks last few years. The club is in good hands.

Re: Paddy Ryder
Just hope we can squeeze one more good year out of him next year.
He's been fantastic this year, doesn't win a lot of the ball but does good things with it and his taps are probably second only to Nic Nat for effectiveness
