Cue Curly, it was clearly a point.
There were at least 3 free kicks in the last two minutes not paid to us by the cheating umpires trying to rob us of a win.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane everyone, and g'day Gaz.
I still lurk around here a bit, but don't have much time to post nowadays: lots going on in my life, as is often the case (and indeed was back in those fund mid-2000s days).
This is a crap year in almost every conceivable way, but at least the Saints are playing a really entertaining and competitive style of football. Go everyone, especially Butler: best value trade in history.

Hmmm, I remember a fight between the boys and off duty coppers, not sure about the venue. I know I wasn’t there. I mainly did concert security and private gigs.fugazi wrote: ↑Wed 19 Aug 2020 11:28pmIt was Stonecold that I remember.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Wed 19 Aug 2020 9:10pmSure it wasn't stonecold?happy feet wrote: ↑Wed 19 Aug 2020 8:04pmOh I wonder if it is Big Mart, he once sent about 6 abusive pm’s and the threat to meet me in a car park to sort me out, because I told him to ‘Nick off’.
Might have been interesting, I’m 6’6 and 110kgs and used to be a bouncer with New Breed Security.
I also remember New Breed Security....weren't they involved in the infamous Tunnel nightclub vs the off duty Cops fight circa 1990?

Whether it’s front on or behind the goals, there is no way of knowing when it crosses the goal line.SaintPav wrote:There was a reverse camera shot which looked like it was on the full.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Thu 20 Aug 2020 8:39pm People who say Jones’ kick was clearly out of bounds have got no clue.

It’s very close in my opinion. The field umpire was in very good position and put up one hand to indicate a point.

I always thought it was uncertain whether it was a point and that's why I asked.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Thu 20 Aug 2020 9:44pmWhether it’s front on or behind the goals, there is no way of knowing when it crosses the goal line.SaintPav wrote:There was a reverse camera shot which looked like it was on the full.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Thu 20 Aug 2020 8:39pm People who say Jones’ kick was clearly out of bounds have got no clue.

AJ told me he was pissed about it as he should have kicked a goal. He was quite proud of the fact that they changed the height of the point post because of his kick.
I was then going to broach his last game and who was supposed to be on A Schneider but I thought I better not push it.

This thread could rival the famous, "Barks4eva is a sacred cow". There was another one, too, but I can't recall its name. Went on for 40-odd pages.

Yeah but it was only ten pages of four page long re-quotes.

The ball swung significantly but mostly after it passed the post.
The lack of a goal line camera angle means we will never know for sure.

Re: Mods on Big Footy
Can't remember the poster, but I still think one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a forum was when some arsehat blew a fuse and labelled the entire board muppets because they wouldn't agree with him. There was a mad scramble and three quarters of the board ended up with muppets in Saints colours as their avatars, and there were debates over who could be which muppet!!

Now that I am entering into my dotage, I find that I have a photographic memory for irrelevant stuff from the past, but I can't remember anything useful like where I parked the car.
Anyway, according to my memory, it was a poster who called himself CarlosA who called everyone "muppets." There was a poster who called himself Cowboy something or other who used his avatar of a muppet in Saints' gear for many years afterwards.
