He kicked arse at CHB last year. He could still kick arse at CHF this year.

I was just thinking this - with Membrey so reliable overhead - but not having a huge impact forward - maybe Battle goes forward and Members as a link-up man / get out of trouble kick between the Arcs?

We're incredibly lucky that he was still there when we had our 2nd pick.

He only went to defence to fill a big gap, Robbo being injured and Hugh Goddard not coming on as expected.
How is Hugh going at Carlton.
Still plodding not really adapted to our high speed game.
He and Mark McGough could make the core of a slow footy team.

I like this as a thought but I'm not sure how happy he would be. I think he could play similarly to Jeremy Howe.

Good little thought there actually DATJ...

Does the significance of the play in the context of the match impact the score? Should it?

Considering Hind's score last week, he should do ok.

I haven't done any work on 'Impact' scores yet but I agree with you, CQ SAINT - 'the significance of the play in the context of the match' is absolutely important. Finding a fair multiplier for the action is always a challenge.

Don’t think it can be anything other than subjective.

I’d say back your judgement

It would say "Utility" on his footy card.

Battle is a natural forward leads well is good overhead and protects the drop zone with good body use. Very hard to teach a lot of theses things and no matter the physical attributes or willingness a player has they just can't grasp forward play.

Josh Battle was recruited as a key forward.

I've got a good idea...
Really like where you are going with this.

Good at both ends and can play on the wing.
Absolutely agree. West Coast supporters will tell you that whilst they had a midfield to die for (albeit some with substance issues) it was a guy called Adam Hunter who won them many games in that 05/06 period by being the 'everywhere' guy. The ultimate modern swingman. That is precisely the player I see Battle becoming. A superb intercept mark down back (by necessity last year) but, who's a natural forward by training. Matthew Lloyd regularly says that (before he had the King twins) that Battle was the guy who had the biggest tank in junior football and the best natural kicking style. They're quite the attributes for a key forward (albeit a little undersized by modern standards).

Battle could develop into the perfect modern footballer - just as adept forward as back but with a big tank to play through the middle at times. I have a feeling he'll end up a big bodied wingman.

I think he, Membrey and King will be a great combination for a few years. When you add Butler and Hind running around at their feet that’s a very good mix.

Josh makes defenders look over their shoulders too - for good reason, he plays hard.

I love how he's being used this year all over the ground, he's like our very own Taysom Hill, looks comfortable anywhere they put him and can pop up and kick a few when needed.

Though lets just say I wasn't too confident when he was lining up, but he put them both straight thru the middle! :D

Battle is a natural forward and an excellent kick. Only 1cm shorter than Roo too actually, but bulkier and harder at it.. CHF material imhfo.
