Hunter didn't have a great night but his last 5 mins were absolute class
His poise, awareness and balance is extraordinary

Brownlow and AA material. Only 21. His best mate Coffield is high quality too.
Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.

Re: Hunter the Cat
Love him, though sometimes he just needs to pull his head in and do the percentage thing, but then again that’s why he was so good in the last 5 minutes!

Re: Hunter the Cat
At halftime, he needed to stand up and show some character and boy did he. Much better in the second 1/2 but yes his last 5-10min was incredible

Re: Hunter the Cat
That last few minutes was just a class above. When he gets near the ball I just have absolute confidence he will win it and dispose of it safely. Can't remember feeling that level of ball security about anyone for a long time.

Re: Hunter the Cat
When is he going into the midfield?
I ask we looked a little thin there tonight. We could have done with Hannebery, Ross or Dunstan to steady things a bit.
Hunter is supposed to be serving an apprenticeship in defence. I wonder if he’s ready to step up yet. He certainly has the evasive skills

Found something extra when the game was on the line which was the most impressive thing.

Hunter will be a cat KILLER on Monday.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

You are not going to lose your job to AI.
You are going lose your job to somebody who uses AI.
Your company is not going to go out of business because of AI.
Your company is going to go out of business because another company used AI.

Re: Hunter the Cat
He has something special different to any other player on the list.
He has that Pendlebury, Dal Santo quality very few footballers have he will be a star potentially a Champion.
In tight finals his class is invaluable he is a beauty.

Re: Hunter the Panther
For whatever reasons, when thinking of Hunter... the Lenny Hayes story comes to mind.
Promising young junior, fairly well rated after and impressive’ish start, over the next 2-3 years was just ok in a fairly average team.
Attracted some critics due to some gaps in his games.
Then I remember this interview regarding his mindset at this time I think referencing the 2003 period. Hayes said that he was doing pretty well but that things has plateaued for him.
Stated words to the effect of having to decide if he would be contented having a pretty good career or whether he was prepared to give everything he had in order have an excellent career.
We all know what Hayes chose. You read it all through Mission’s book - Hayes’ prep was second to none in the AFL. If there was an extra rehab session at 0500 at the beach, he was there.
I look at Hunter Clarke and hope that he takes on this level of professionalism...
Reckon he could be better than Lenny if he did
Has all the tools to be the best mid in the AFL... one of those near in a generation player. Heck he looks already halfway there.
Super impressive kid with all the tools. Hope he has the drive to give it everything
