I like it, we want to win every game. We want to respect our opponents & the competition.

Yep. Players will be rested , I expect, after this one, but 7 days since the last game, and we want to build on back-to-back wins in Adelaide , so go hard, guys !Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 31 Jul 2020 7:28pm I like it, we want to win every game. We want to respect our opponents & the competition.
We are certainly tall up forward. Not unhappy with that. Hope the weather is good .

Re: Team v Swans- Battle for Kent
Surprises me...
Thought Kent was doing well up til last week and even then still got a goal after he was led in to be crunched.
Pbly just being rested.
Interesting to see Parker get another go. His game wasn’t respected by many here but I’m glad he’s got the opportunity

Yes I am surprised they did not bring Lonie back in and rest someone else.skeptic wrote: ↑Fri 31 Jul 2020 7:59pm Surprises me...

But then Parker does not need a rest after one game.
I expected Battle to replace Ross but Ross is apparently uninjured.
Lonie would have been a good replacement Kent and then Battle replace Parker.
But emotionally I am pleased for Parker.
He more than any other player seems to understands the true value of AFL football.
The once in a lifetime chance to drag your family out of a difficult existence and set them up financially for life.
I hope he has a long football career.

Re: Team v Swans- Battle for Kent
Don't our doctors know the difference between an ankle and a knee.
I saw Kent get his ankle hurt when he was tackled on the boundary line.
Why do our doctors call that a knee.

Re: Team v Swans- Battle for Kent
Umm, just a question. I've been scouring the death notices looking for Seb Ross's obituary. Can somebody tell me what medical wonder has got him fit to play tomorrow?
And, are they working on a vaccine for the corona virus?

Doesn’t surprise me... was quite sore and spent time off the ground after he got crunched trying to clean up an errant Ross pass

Seb wasn’t injured probably just cramp in the calf requiring a compression bandage.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Fri 31 Jul 2020 8:52pm Umm, just a question. I've been scouring the death notices looking for Seb Ross's obituary. Can somebody tell me what medical wonder has got him fit to play tomorrow?

If it had been an injury he would have had an ice pack on the leg.

I thought they said Kent was out due to illness
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Good to know. Last I heard he would be missing a few weeks. Shame about Kent, he's had a big impact our last two games.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Fri 31 Jul 2020 9:00pmSeb wasn’t injured probably just cramp in the calf requiring a compression bandage.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Fri 31 Jul 2020 8:52pm Umm, just a question. Re: Team v Swans- Battle for Kent
No point risking any players with the depth we have.
As for Parker and Sinclair, both should get another run. I hated having a player promoted for one week then dumped for four. especially with no VFL to play in to get better. I am also hoping to see Bytel get a run some time this year as well

What about Byrnes though? He gets to play his first game, his parents are on the video screen for the announcement and, bad luck mate, back you go, see ya later!DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Fri 31 Jul 2020 10:11pm No point risking any players with the depth we have.

Re: Team v Swans- Battle for Kent
From saints.com.au
"Josh Battle will return to the senior line-up ahead of St Kilda’s clash with Sydney for the fifth Pride Game.
The 21-year-old was sidelined before last week’s triumph with a minor cheek fracture and mild concussion sustained against Adelaide.
Battle comes in for the injured Dean Kent, who'll miss with knee soreness."

Re: Team v Swans- Battle for Kent
When Kent came back on last week his knee was strapped
The way games are shaping with Carlton, WB and Essendon dropping games and percentage so under pressure we need the win this week to put further distance between them and us
As sides drop off the pace, such as Carlton, WB and Essendon, we need to not join them (it will be interesting to see how those sides losing touch after poor performances regroup - or drop away)
Brisbane and West Coast will tell us a bit when we get to play them
The positions of Fremantle and NM are noted, given we lost as we did to both of them
Collingwood was hopefully just a bad day given 5 days v 9 days and blown away early

I thought this was the Pride Game.
Why are these two teams battling to win a small county in the UK?

Must admit I thought similar, that perhaps it was a medieval battle for County Kent.darylcowie wrote: ↑Sat 01 Aug 2020 3:17pm I thought this was the Pride Game.

Hoping we build Hadrian's Wall across our half-back line to prevent enemy incursions, and do to the Swans what Boudicca did to the Romans at the Battle of Watling StreetJoffa Burns wrote: ↑Sat 01 Aug 2020 5:07pmMust admit I thought similar, that perhaps it was a medieval battle for County Kent.darylcowie wrote: ↑Sat 01 Aug 2020 3:17pm I thought this was the Pride Game.

Very disappointing. My dad’s parents were born in Kent. I was very excited about this game. I guess I will still watch, but what a bummer.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Sat 01 Aug 2020 5:58pmThey‘ve gone and spoiled it now.
