Every time St Kilda has defeated Adelaide in Adelaide, we have gone on to finish 5th or higher.
1991 - 5th
2004 - 3rd
2005 - 4th

Re: Danger game
I keep saying this...we ARE a developing side 2 yrs off the top 4. We trade in some players, change coaches...people expect finals....that might happen. But more realistic is that we continue to surge and seemingly regress but actual change and growth is happening and although there's no guarantee we can hit finals next year maybe AND we still still need some players to complete the picture....trade, develop or draft.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Thu 16 Jul 2020 11:38pm We are not a finals contender. We are a developing side, looking to develop a winning style of play. Inconsistency is expected, effort is non negotiable. If we put in a full side effort, we will win. If we don't, we will have clearer indications of who moves forward and who gets left behind. The new band of leaders will appear in the next 11 weeks.

I think posters are missing the point of the op.

Re: Danger game
We do, and that is primarily because we are only picked by the majority of tipsters when we play struggling interstate teams who we have not beaten anywhere for years.
Tipsters are human and they believe all the hype around the bigger, more traditionally successful Melbourne/Victorian clubs, which by and large are the teams we can knock off, so long as the match is played at our home ground.
I'll bet the vast majority of tipsters in the Adelaide Mail have selected the Crows though, because we have only beaten the Crows four times in Adelaide in 28 years.

I think that when everyone tips us we get ahead of ourselves. Been happening for years. We are actually a tipsters nightmare.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jul 2020 1:08pmWe do, and that is primarily because we are only picked by the majority of tipsters when we play struggling interstate teams who we have not beaten anywhere for years.

Re: Danger game
Hopefully we are not betting against ourselves, although the tab is much more pragmatic about form.saynta wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jul 2020 1:22pmI think that when everyone tips us we get ahead of ourselves. Re: Danger game
Danger games are usually the ones where St Kilda is in front of the "V" or after the "V".
Location, ladder position, significance, early season, mid season, late season and finals are inconsequential.

Re: Danger game
are we overnighting or flying in on the day.
if flying in we're looking at 1 1/2 hours on the bus, time at airport, 2 3/4 hrs on the plane, then 1/2 hr to the game. two weeks in a row.
the idiots who agreed to base a team so far from an airport or ground have sabotaged the season completely.
carlton didn't allow the afl to stuff them up, why did we?

Great meme.
Should be on a t-shirt.
I'd buy one if it had a cool design (even though I am too cool for my shirt)

Fremantle are a better side than the Crows. If we can't beat Adelaide this year we may as well pull up stumps.
The bigger issue is why are we playing in front of two 25,000 string crowds over there within five days? That's the biggest danger.

Re: Danger game
well i agree about the crows, but i don't think they will be alright. it's an elite competition and as such to be consistently at your best you need to have everything done to maximise your ability to play at the highest level. it's why clubs spend up on the best facilities, coaches, medical personnel and players that they can afford. it's also why carlton said no. this was something that should have been in our control.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sun 19 Jul 2020 11:57pmThey're young athletes, they'll be right.desertsaint wrote: ↑Sun 19 Jul 2020 5:21pm are we overnighting or flying in on the day.
