Any word from Ratten?
After a performance like that I'd like to hear from the coach. I know he can't change anything and I'm not holding him responsible or anything. Just curious what he made of it. I haven't read or seen anything . If anyone has any media on it could they post it here. Cheers

Re: Any word from Ratten?
Ratts was clearly peed off at his presser. Lack of forward pressure- not keeping the ball in the forward line was mentioned, plus a general lack of pressure and too many passengers wanting others to do the work. I think Wilke was the only player I saw who tried for 4 quarters...that leaves a lot of passengers.

It's amazing how alomost every poster on this clueless board doesn't understand how significantly disadvantaged the boys were before yesterday's game. And then they had to contend with the heat after stepping off a bus after 3 hours. I'd expect even the half brains would work it out but oh no, here we are in a thread that calls for coaching accountability. And most clue-less are the half witts calling for players to be dropped en masse and replaced with players that have either never played a game of footy against men or who have had no competition at any level for almost 18 months. CLUELESS! These calls are most likely from the same thickheads that bang on about selection integrity during full strength comp and don't understand the cupboard is bare, like really bloody bare when it comes to team selection.
In case the morons haven't worked it out there is a pandemic and the code is not able to be played as it normally is. The same farkwits carrying on like 9 yo children are most likely the the same brain dead twits who believe AFL is the fabric of thier society and that it is the players duty to entertain you even through a PANDEMIC, well guess what, the players are doing thier job and they are turning up. Don't turn on then when they can't provide you with your entitlements.

Swing the axe Ratts!Ratten also said he's not afraid to drop players who aren't in form, having taken the entire club list to the club's hub in Noosa.
"We've brought a full squad up here, so we'll play players who are in form. If you're not in form and your form's tapering, you might be in a bit of trouble," he said.
"Our wins have been built on everybody contributing and today I thought we just had a few blokes who contributed, and others didn't really have much influence on the game.
"We just had too many blokes that we carried today."

Re: Any word from Ratten?
No doubt we are disadvantaged
Fremantle have been in their “hub” for some 4 weeks
St Kilda have been in their “hub” for a week, so still in 14 day isolation
Plus a bus trip plus the umpiring did us no favours
And now we go to Adelaide and 14 day isolation again - how does that work noting the problems Adelaide got into with players returning to SA with Ben Hart the “culprit”?
That said, repeating the second half against Carlton we were beaten at selection and then on the Chess Board
Too many one dimensional players there to “do a job” and, for the second week, exposed as non contributors when it comes to winning games of football by impacting the contest and not merely defending someone
It is time to move on and now the Coach has the excuse to do so with some deemed untouchable

Apparently we lacked forward pressure but I can't remember the ball getting into our forward line for two and a half quarters after quarter time. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 12 Jul 2020 2:20pm I want to watch the game again to see what the F*** happened but i can’t. I just can’t.

That suggests, badly beaten in the centre square and lack of run / positioning coming out of defence.
I'm not buying the trauma of the bus trip kicked in at the quarter time huddle.

Teams flying into Sydney earlier this year had no problem running out and winning games, some just want to try find any excuse they can.

Re: Any word from Ratten?
Saw the presser and Ratts looked well and truly p****ed about the performance. I’m not a fan of wholesale changes after a loss but that game looked like players cruising after quarter time thinking the game is done.
I’d rather have a few guys putting in and making the odd mistake rather than someone in the team on past reputations. There’s a lot of hungry kids in the squad looking for a chance to prove something- give them a shot Ratts!
