Levi Casboult, who gets first crack?
He’s in outstanding form and we if we can stop him we’ll go a long way to beating Carlton.
I’d rotate Howard and Carlisle on him, Howard when he’s up the ground and Carlisle if he starts out of the goal square.

Carlisle should get the job done. He is a good match up for Casboult.

I think Carlisle would be a better match up for Marc Murphy.SuperDuper wrote: ↑Mon 29 Jun 2020 9:29pm Carlisle should get the job done. He is a good match up for Casboult.

The job needs to be done in the midfield. If we are winning there then Howard goes to Casboult and wears him. Long stays close by Betts, Battle drops back and Carlisle and Battle block and rebound off McGovern.
I think you might see Ratten wanting to control the pace of the game and keep the ball forward of centre, play a 7 man defense and open up the forward line for Marsh at FF.

I think the talls will rotate like they did on Lynch and Reiwoldt with Carslile mostly manning Casboult and Howard McGovern. If McKay plays Wilkie could go to McGovern.

Just my opinion, but I reckon Carlton would be salivating at the matchup of Long on Betts.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Tue 30 Jun 2020 4:46pm The job needs to be done in the midfield. Ben Long is way too attacking (IMHO) to 'defend' Betts.
I reckon it's more likely to be Paton if Geary doesn't get up.

Good point Mr Magic - makes sense to me.
I prefer Long's attack and Pattons defensiveness - good balance there.

I believe Eddie attacks the loose ball, Geary has been successful on Betts by also reading and attacking the loose ball, body blocking and just being able to following him, using agility and great closing speed. Long has all those attributes. Paton also reads the ball well but might not be as agile. Paton could do the job though.Mr Magic wrote: ↑Tue 30 Jun 2020 5:52pmJust my opinion, but I reckon Carlton would be salivating at the matchup of Long on Betts.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Tue 30 Jun 2020 4:46pm The job needs to be done in the midfield.
