92 marks to 55 - Good to see us lowering our eyes and hitting targets

Won the tackle count 57 to 49 and contested possessions 127 to 115

Only 14 shots on goals for the Dogs as well - defence held up well

Shame the AFL have given Collingwood such a huge advantage heading into next round. I reckon we were a good chance if it wasn’t for the standard Collingwood leg up.
You have to remember Collingwood have more than twice our membership.
They bring twice the TV audience compared to St Kilda.
The greater the audience, the more TV rights are worth.
The AFL want to make that audience happy hence they cheat for Collingwood.

Where is the evidence of this? Ratings don't necessarily correlate directly with membership numbers

Unless someone can show me ratings agency data I'd say people will be watching teams that play an exciting brand of footy

When you look at the so called 'big games' like the Pies Vs Tigers game, the Only reason it's a big game is because of the big crowds that these matches would normally attract

Without the crowds they weren't 'big' games at all. There was no atmosphere whatsoever

Imo, the 2nd and 3rd quarters were boring and it looked like an ordinary game of aussie rules VFL grade footy

 Maybe this is an opportunity for our club ( if we have a good year and play an exciting brand) to lobby the AFL and give us another chance at FTa broadcasts

I wonder back in our years of playing finals (2004/5 & 2009/10) how did the ratings of the Saints compare to the ratings of the Skunks

I don’t understand the angst against Curly. He’s a passionate fan who’s a bit biased.

When you write 11 posts in the Match Day thread to tell someone to stop spamming the board, I’d suggest Curly isn’t the problem. Use the ignore feature, it would be a win-win.

As for the umpiring, I don’t think we got any of our 14 goals from frees but the Dogs had at least three. One of them was actually there.

Good to see King clunking a few, though i wish they didn’t bomb it long to him 1 on 3 so many times.

Ryder was great in the ruck, though I still think he hurts Marshall’s game, which I don’t like. IMO Marshall should be the number 1 ruck with someone giving him a chop out, not the other way round.

But most importantly, 14.4, wowee! Again showing why accurate goal kicking is the most important thing in footy!
Ryder was an All Australian ruckman 3 years ago and you can tell by yesterdays performance. He's 4cm's shorter than Marshall but has the better leap and an elite tap. Marshall still learning his craft and will learn alot from Ryder.

Paddy Ryder clearly enjoying his time at the Saints.
Just looks happy there.
Ditto all the recruits I would say.
Zac Jones, may well be an A grader based on form so far.

Let's hope the Dogs nearly go bankrupt like Slater and Gordon almost did due to their big headedness!

Perhaps that's a rule you could consider implementing.
Would certainly add a lot of value and common sense to the match day thread and the forum in general and end once and for all the RL V GT forum debate.

Thank god I don't sit anywhere near you at the footy if that's the drivel you are forced to listen to on game day, I think the ear pods would be permanently affixed with volume cranked at its highest level.
BackFromUSA wrote: Sun 14 Jun 2020 10:19pm Hopefully that answers your question.
The validity of the post was not the question, the question was why is this (redacted) allowed to continually spam the match day thread?

Though the question is no rhetorical.

What exactly is it you suffer if someone who thinks the Umpires are against us posts their view?

That's their opinion and I struggle to understand how, if you disagree, it could be a major point of concern.

Seriously though is this an allegation? That they're infiltrators or something?

If so I think some other commenters have it right just pay them no mind.

You are correct roskilde.

I had never considered the poster was genuine and have always been of the opinion that (redacted) poster was spamming the forum and taking the piss with the AFL sanctioned umpires cheating against us posts.

If said poster is actually serious (though I still struggle to comprehend this as a it is illogical) and somehow believes the conspiracies he/she posts, my assessment is incorrect and I need to alter my attitude and be more tolerant of this individual.

Just pointing out that many would find that extremely annoying, and therefore it’s not allowed.

On match day if you want to talk about St Kilda go to a St Kilda forum, if you want to talk about Collingwood go to a Collingwood forum, if you want to talk about umpires go to an umpires forum.

That’s all many of us are saying.
