Please inform: Zak Jones, Dougal Howard, Hunter Clark
We have heard the hype...but with no games on the board I cannot compute the effect these players might have. I know about Hill from his Hawthorn days and no doubt, he is good - or was excellent - and should be value.
But how come these other new guys are automatic selections? Are they that good? Please tell me their strengths and weaknesses. Just as a supporter I worry we will go down the Kent route and automatically select people because our self-belief is so poor we just assume the outside world is better. I know that is daft in a way...
But if anyone out there could pitch me something about 1) Howard, 2) Jones and 3) Clark...and tell me why we should pick them, I think it will make this week more interesting and I won't feel so stupid commenting about team selections...(maybe) (...it won't stop me though! lol)
So how do you rate these guys?

Yes...sorry, Hunter Clark ..yes, thee headbanded one...what was I thinking?
OK...I thought he was a fringe player at best. Har worker, but not great disposal.
So who else am I missing?
forget Clark...
...but why is he being picked anyway?
Marsh...is the other one.

...oh..and I shouldn't write off Clark as he is so young. I just didn't think he was a great disposer for some reason.

Don't worry, you could not be more embarrassed than me...for listing him as a newbie, even though he is comparatively new...so I win the Golden Duck Award for this thread.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jun 2020 7:14pmFiled in my "Big statement to be used as a tool of ridicule against" folder.
I also wanted to know about Butler.
So I now owe some love to Hunter.
SuperCoach says,
Team Type
Hunter Clark is a high risk, high reward player and is suited to a supercoach team that is contemplating a risky structure.
$402,000
"Hunter Clark is pretty average when it comes to supercoach. Hunter Clark may post a decent score from time to time, but will mostly hover around the pretty forgettable score zone."
"Look at someone like Hunter Clark or his teammate Sam Docherty instead."
AFL Fantasy
5570,000
The Courier Mail
HUNTER CLARK | ST KILDA | DEF | $402,200 | 76.5 avg.
Clark looked at home in a rebounding role for the Saints during the Marsh Community Series and it showed in his SuperCoach points. Clark dominated in week 1 against the Hawks with 97 points from 81% TOG, garnering one PPM during that stoush. The following week against the Pies, Clark copped a bit more attention and was limited to 56 points despite 79% game time.
Dougal Howard
Dougal HOWARD (STK) DEF/FWD @ $376,500:
Will line up at full back with plenty to prove after moving over from Port, vertical ability and DPP make him one to watch.

Damn that means we will win another wooden.
At least we get one great draft pick.
We could even reclaim Paddy McCartin before any other club.

As long as you’re prepared to give me credit if he wins it.Enrico_Misso wrote:Filed in my "Big statement to be used as a tool of ridicule against" folder.

Zac Jones is a sort of poor man's Nathan Burke; D. Howard is a sort of poor man's Max Hudghton; Hunter Clark is a rich man's Hunter Clark. Nick Coffield, who was not mentioned, is up 100 points in the rich man's futures portfolio. We pick them because they are here now, expensive, and we need to field a team. Hopefully the first two become at least half as good as the comparators.

Of course depending how the season pans out I could always move it to my "Struth, I wish I had said that" folder.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Wed 10 Jun 2020 9:38pmAs long as you’re prepared to give me credit if he wins it.Enrico_Misso wrote:Filed in my "Big statement to be used as a tool of ridicule against" folder.

Someone convince me why Dougal Howard is a better option than Mr. Nathan Brown...who must be more than just a "trusty Gorilla"

Because we are paying massive overs for his services and he has to play to earn his value.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 13 Jun 2020 3:06am Someone convince me why Dougal Howard is a better option than Mr. Nathan Brown...who must be more than just a "trusty Gorilla"
