...if the season goes ahead?

That sucks if so..
And it's not a good omen for the Saints for the rest of any nascent truncated season.
If we can't even beat North Melbourne...gee.

We were the better side but you can’t beat teams if you don’t kick straight!

Who cares.

We all know round 1 should not have gone ahead.

Hill wasn’t interested in playing and that’s why we lost. Simple.

I hope that bloke we spent a fortune on isn’t going to pick and choose which games he’s interested in.

And of course they will count the first game. It’s going to be tough enough to get 17 games in without throwing out the one result they have.

c'mon, of course they should include it - we're only one game out of the eight!

I care!
Damn it.
It is not 1/22 now, it is 1/17!

And bad for morale. I suggested that the players knew the season would be cut at half-time and so they stopped in their tracks, but others pointed out, we were giving it everything and dominated the first ten of the second half.
I am going to look on the bright side and say that any hyperbole about Ratts, the newcomers, the return of Robbo etc., is well and truly toast thanks to that loss and especially the way we lost. Losing by two after charging back isn't as bad. Controlling a tight scoring game comfortably and then just let it all go is alarming.

Our last matches against North, Sydney and Carlton are all alarming - not one of them is considered top 8 material at this stage - and in the case of Sydney in particular they had had a very disappointing season, with many players returning to the side for the first and last time in months.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

They need to completely overhaul our entire backline and drop those players who under-performed in the second half, and bring back Brown, Battle and Carlisle.
The midfield set up was all wrong with no-one tagging Cunnington.

The delivery into the forward line was disgraceful once again, with the same two offenders bombing it to no-one in particular for what must be going on five seasons now. If I was a forward I'd hate to play for St Kilda.

How they are going to fix this problem when they can't even train as a team is anybody's guess, and even now, I am not convinced that the first four rounds should be going ahead.

Fair comments. The three you mentioned are certainly in my best 22 players.

Screwed up quotes..

I write (Says he!)
Sydney was just terrible....I let the Carlton one slip on the grounds of their new coach fever effect. North, I don’t know what to make of it. We did play well for decent periods.

It’s clear we are not favorites now, based on betting for round two.
