Re: BRUCE
Yeah but how good is Bontempelli? He was great in the middle in the last 10 minutes of that quarter winning some hard balls and forcing the turnover.
I don't care what anyone says, he should have been a Saints player instead of Billings. Poles apart in talent and hardness.....would have been captain of our side easily. A true match winner and worth every cent of his contract.

Re: BRUCE
Yeah but...Bont wasn’t in Emma’s top 5 or Bucky’s top 5. In fact most of those ‘fantasy’ draft write ups didn’t have the Bont figuring in the top 10. We didn’t want to be too controversial and start thinking for ourselves...did wesaintkid wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 9:01pm Yeah but how good is Bontempelli? I think there was another saint who had a reasonable cousin we could have drafted, can't recall who it was but he ended up at Richmond I thinksaintkid wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 9:59pmWe didn't even listen to Dal Santo who sung his cousin's praises to the club either.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 9:38pmYeah but...Bont wasn’t in Emma’s top 5 or Bucky’s top 5. Re: BRUCE
Yes I still can't believe that we let that one slip - it's not like we had never heard of the guy! It's not like we missed out on this secret player coming through the draft system, flying under the radar. Can't believe we missed out on that one, even to this day.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 10:13pmI think there was another saint who had a reasonable cousin we could have drafted, can't recall who it was but he ended up at Richmond I thinksaintkid wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 9:59pmWe didn't even listen to Dal Santo who sung his cousin's praises to the club either.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 9:38pmYeah but...Bont wasn’t in Emma’s top 5 or Bucky’s top 5. Re: BRUCE
6 possessions to Bruce. That’s enough.
Anyway, the season is a joke.
It shouldn’t be on.
I wonder if the teams will go to Crown Casino to have a drink and play some pokies, as they have exemption also - meanwhile most small businesses are left to rot
Joke.

Re: BRUCE
We cleared out three duds. Richmond have continued to show that you don't need centre bounce ball winners if the team is otherwise highly skilled. Once they get the ball, even on the backline, then they will use it. Of course, if they do happen to win at the bounce, they will produce a result like the GF. Collingwood, except for the first ten minutes, showed they are far more skilled than Footscray and won in the centre most of the time, hence the margin. Both Richmond and Collingwood have a high level of skill in handball. While it is the easiest skill to improve upon, that doesn't mean that it is easy. Our handball has been worse than pathetic. Players who can't handball 2 metres let alone 20. Players who handpass to where a player was, rather than to where he will be. Players who handball, when they are by themselves, to someone who has three opponents. The solution is coaching and skill development. If the players' hands aren't red raw after pre-season handball training then they have been wasting their time. Get them to wear gloves to start with. Practise a passing move 1000 times - not once or twice.

Re: BRUCE
He did didn't he.
Got rag dolled in the contest, looked like a first year player against a season pro.

Bontempelli is the most overrated player in the league. He is a good player but nothing special.saintkid wrote: ↑Fri 20 Mar 2020 9:01pm Yeah but how good is Bontempelli? He was great in the middle in the last 10 minutes of that quarter winning some hard balls and forcing the turnover.

Re: BRUCE
Just been chatting to my brother in Victoria He doesn’t seem to realise that if there is a lockdown then pubs and clubs are shut. He goes ‘they won’t shut down them as they make too much money’. I said mate in a national lockdown, pubs and pokies won’t be deemed essential lol

Re: BRUCE
Tough night for a player like Bruce...
Collingwood mids ran riot for most of the night. Little opportunity for the forwards
