It's a bit early to be making those kind of predictions however speculative.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 14 Dec 2019 5:27pm Form, game conditions and of course, injury.

However, I would be optimistic. There is good reason.
We've traded in five AFL ready to go players who are going to have an impact.
There are no certainties in life or footy but you would have to say these new players are going to make us a better footy team.
Plus you would hope and expect some of the guys who started to show a bit like Hunter Clark, Nick Coffield, Gresham, Billings might take that extra step.
Plus the word from the pre season is that Jack Bytel is making an impression.
I think we will be faster movers of the footy and hopefully better users as well.
We have reason to be excited about 2020. You should be as well.

Of course no one knows. Interested in fans expectations here, really am. Can't helped wondering what you all are expecting, especially now, before we approach the pre-season games, and injuries come in.
I think it will go something luke,
a) Hanners 12
b) Roberton 18-20
c) Brown 10
d) Bytel 4
e) King 12
f) who else is suspect? Carlisle? 14

= premiership
Forward kicking goals with a new beastly young mid and Roberton’s run off back from a settled backline

He had a great season in the , yes, under 17s.., then it all fell apart in 2018,. So it was a case of, let's get this right, and the press releases in Jan 2018 were all about four to six weeks, and we saw the result. Sure hope he defies expectations.
Not many games for Brown and thank you for mentioning Webster. He is definitely the wild card, maybe more so than Carlisle.

Re: How many games will they play in 2020?
I think.Carlisle will have his best year at the Saints. He is playing for his career and any sort of improvement in the squad will inspire him to work for it. If he does fire I think we need to bank some games into Howard he may not be a distance runner but the guy is powerful and pretty well skilled.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 15 Dec 2019 12:11amMnnn, I also think it's hard to bank on Bytel yet.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Sat 14 Dec 2019 10:20pm18shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 14 Dec 2019 8:27pmLol...

Webster may be cooked, as in injury prone. Strong enough to recover but vulnerable to injury. I reckon he struggles with the physical stress his play produces. Geary and Wilkie is a better mid size combo for mine and Coffield will surge this year. Webster's best is good enough but I reckon he is under a cloud. The depth in defence is exciting and we are well placed not to take risks. I think will also ease Robbo back into it.
I'm counting on Hannerbery, Ross, and Dunstan and Hill Jones and Billings to gel quickly and hold Bytel back. I actually think the kid is a ripper but our fixture will require the above six to be at their best in the first 10 games. Clarke and Jones will be the mid projects for mine and both are capable of rotating of half back to provide run and balanced mid play. I'd like to see Bytel and Gresh as forward/inside mids but I prefer Dunstan, Steele and Hanners at stoppages, so Gresh as the forward/mid rotating with Hanners. Bytel will have to push Dunstan out and can do so by developing his forward craft and make a target of himself.
I think we will have to structure the forward line like this. Multiple running leading options and 2 quick smalls. This will help utilise Winxs mobility and make matching up hard. I reckon he should be rotated onto the bench when Ryder and Marshall rotate randomly just to make matchups hard and to give us flexibility in how we enter the fifty..We need to score more and bomb less.
I'd like to see out best 26 finish the year like this.
Hind King Membrey
Bytel Battle Gresham
Hill Steele Billings
Jones Carlisle Roberton
Geary Howard Coffield
Marshall Ross Hanners
Wilkie Clark Paton Ryder
Dunstan Savage Sinclair Lonie

How the f*** would anyone know?
I remember Eddie Macquire asking a younger junior burger media pundit Joey Mintagna about his tips for the weekends games. Joey was still learning the ropes and broke character exclaiming, " I haven't got a clue who's gonna win? How does anybody know?, I don't know!" it was an honest admission and Eddie gently reminded him, "Yes you do Joey yes, you do" lol
