Ex-Docker Bradley Hill backs his decision to return home to Victoria
https://thewest.com.au/sport/afl/ex-doc ... 00942z.amp
Former Docker Bradley Hill admits he spoke to St Kilda “pretty early on” when deciding to return home to Victoria.
The “Hill heading home” rumour dominated headlines for much of Fremantle’s 2019 before the star admitted he did want to follow his girlfriend back to Melbourne.
Now the ex-Docker says he made the right call to leave Fremantle with two years still to run on his contract.
“Looking at (St Kilda’s) group, I thought there was a lot of improvement, a lot of talent there,” he told 3AW.
“They were the club I pretty much spoke to first from Melbourne.
“It’s been a great move and I’m loving the club so far.”
While admitting there were moments in the hectic AFL Trade Week when he feared he may not get to the Saints, Hill said he had no regrets about leaving Hawthorn to play alongside brother Stephen.
“The goal was to play AFL footy in the same team as my brother; we probably didn’t play as much footy together as we’d like,” he said.
“That’s the reason I did go back to play alongside my brother.
“It was obviously a dream of mine.”
Now reunited with family at St Kilda through cousin Paddy Ryder, Hill said he looked forward to getting season 2020 under way.
“(Paddy and I) were both pretty happy to get over here and play for the Saints.”
Hill is currently away on a pre-season trip with the Saints to Barwon Heads.

I know it is a business but he is also very happy being the highest paid player at the club.

Should he not be the highest paid player?Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Thu 05 Dec 2019 4:36pm I know it is a business but he is also very happy being the highest paid player at the club.
Walks in one of our best players, and you need to pay more to persuade a trade especially when you’re not a big club that hasn’t played finals for 8 years.
Not sure what the problem is really. Some fans never happy no matter who we recruit.

Nail hammer head. Of course not all posters are dinky di saints supporters. Far to easy to register on here and post negative crap whilst pretending to be a supporter.Stephen Theodore wrote: ↑Fri 06 Dec 2019 1:44pmYep, and some aren’t real fansSpinner wrote: ↑Fri 06 Dec 2019 8:54amShould he not be the highest paid player?Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Thu 05 Dec 2019 4:36pm I know it is a business but he is also very happy being the highest paid player at the club.

You should be required to be a paid up member before you are allowed to post. Well, IMHO, that is.

Does not bother me in the slightest about what we are paying him.Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Thu 05 Dec 2019 4:36pm I know it is a business but he is also very happy being the highest paid player at the club.
Bradley Hill is a champion. Worth every cent.
He will help us win games of footy. No question.

You’re a stirrer NRG.
Hill certainly has been a champion and hopefully will be a great pick up for the Saints.
I’m excited and there’s real positivity emanating from the club.
Go Saints!

Totally agree, Damien - I am really excited that we got him and can't wait to see our new recruits take us forward.damienc wrote: ↑Fri 06 Dec 2019 4:02pmDoes not bother me in the slightest about what we are paying him.Nick_BlueNRG wrote: ↑Thu 05 Dec 2019 4:36pm I know it is a business but he is also very happy being the highest paid player at the club.
