Re: The List
I think we have stuffed up. We only took 2 in the National draft which means we need to upgrade a rookie. But we can't because we have 40 on the main list already which I believe is the maximum.
Could someone confirm?

Re: The List
Can the rookies play if there are no LTI's?
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Re: The List
Yep, now that the AFL has made that change, I don't quite get what the purpose of the rookie list is. Why not just extend the numbers in the main list??

Re: The List
We were lucky/skilled to select Wilke as a rookie. Lots of pats on back to recruiters. But after how good Wilke was this year he should be on our main list and it is an embarrassment he is not IMO.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Fri 29 Nov 2019 7:05pmI fricken hope so.Stian wrote: ↑Fri 29 Nov 2019 6:56pmAhh OK. Re: The List
Yes I have to agree but it is really only a technicality. Once his contract extension kicks in I imagine it will be rectified.

Re: The List
People like to be recognised for performance. I am sure Callum would like to be on the senior rather than rookie list. Why give resentment a chance?

Re: The List
Lol. He was extended and agreed. Being an accountant I'm sure he made sure the recognition added up. As a South Australian I'm also sure he knew he would have had options. It's good to never get too ahead of yourself. He has shown commitment and perhaps now sacrifice. If his form stays true it will work out. If it doesn't he will lose nothing. We had to promote Joyce.and probably didn't want to risk delisting anyone on a chance we could re-rookie them. We probably also didn't expect so many trades either. I don't think there is much to see here in light of the bigger picture.

Re: The List
Now that all the delistings and new signings have finished for another year, I feel that I can now relax and look forward to season 2020.
While some supporters look forward to this time of the year and the draft, I absolutely hate it.
This year we said goodby to 12 loved sainters which is never a good thing. Necessary, yes of course, but enjoyable, no.

The bigger picture is Wilke was top 10 this year and remains on the rookie list.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Fri 29 Nov 2019 8:21pm Lol. He was extended and agreed. Anyway I am not arguing with you. I assume if Callum was on the senior list you would be happy.
I am merely venting my dislike that one of our best is left on the rookie list.
I am guessing Callum is the first rookie ever to play all games and remain on rookie list next year.

I think.we have agreed from.the start. I'm just not sure how much it really matters and also doubt he has been taken advantage of. I'd prefer to imagine that a 'team first' and an 'anything for success' mantra is at play.Shaggy wrote: ↑Fri 29 Nov 2019 9:10pmWilke is not precious.
