Question on draft night - trading picks

Post: # 1832100Post MC Gusto »

Can you trade future picks? Eg if we wanted a certain player could we trade a future first?

We can’t touch our first round for next year, as we have already used picks outside the first round.
This means we only have access to 2 x 4th round picks from memory.

I don't think we can trade our 2020 first round pick having traded away our 2nd, 3rd & 4th
But we can certainly trade away Sydney and West Coasts 2020 4th rounders for what they are worth.

Our drafting team have been renamed "Old Mother Hubbard".

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the Cupboard,
To give the poor Dog a bone;
When she came there,
The Cupboard was bare,
And so the poor Dog had none.

You mean our draft team have "Diddly Squat"

more like

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the Cupboard,
To give the poor Dog a bone;
but when she bent over,
Rover, he drove her,
And gave her a bone of his own.

Some of the easiest money ever earned would be the 2019 Stkilda draft manager.

2 upgrades and Biggy...think Ted could handle that.

We must have been one of the most wasteful clubs in the last 10 years with regards to first and second round picks.
Not surprised we have decided to change tack and use picks to trade in talent rather than roll the dice at the draft.

Yes last year Carlton swapped their future first round pick to the Crows.

Fully agree. We would get shocking value for it.

Future picks are always discounted and with so many F/S and Academy picks next year it will be further discounted again.
