And it's a night game!!
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Yeah that’s what I thought also - no mention on Saints website re the 1,000 seat stand.
Also - why aren’t we playing 3 practice matches, given the idiotic AFLX has been canned?
We don’t need a BYE in the pre season comp!
We used to always have 3 scheduled inter-club practice matches before the AFLX garbage.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

We will probably schedule a intra club practice match either before Hawthorn or in the bye week.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Mon 28 Oct 2019 4:24pmYeah that’s what I thought also - no mention on Saints website re the 1,000 seat stand.

I’m sure you’re right - but an extra game against another club is more TV exposure and better for marketing.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Mon 28 Oct 2019 6:07pmWe will probably schedule a intra club practice match either before Hawthorn or in the bye week.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Mon 28 Oct 2019 4:24pmYeah that’s what I thought also - no mention on Saints website re the 1,000 seat stand.

Fantastic that we're back at Moorabbin. Club should promote it as a nostalgia event and offer a free ticket with membership.

They'll probably water it the night before (and leave the sprinklers going all night.
Just like the old days.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

That’s the very least I would expect. Are there any gates that they can funnel people through to charge?

Praccy matches are normally free if you have a club membership of the club that’s playing

But no animal pit.
They should at least set up an area surrounded by barbed wire.

Beer in cans.
Burgers from the O'Briens food vans.
Watching Phil Stevens captaining the reserves in the curtain raiser, playing at full back.
Kids having to stand on tinnies to see the action.
Everybody smoking.
At quarter time and half time people moving from behind the goals at one end to the opposite end following our full forward.
Southside Six/Players for a few coldies after the big game.
Lucky Burgers on the way home.

You are obvious old enough like me to remember the large steel beer cans. Mainly Fosters I think?
As a kid one of my first tasks was to hunt around for two cans to stand on to increase improve my viewpoint.

Given the likely crowd size Moorabbin will have major better buzz about it.

Re: Saints are back at Moorabbin. Feb 20 v Hawks
What could be possibly bad about watching the footy at Etihad?
Perfect conditions
Comfortable
Great viewing
I watched Sandy and the girls at Moorabbin last year. Viewing was terrible. Standing only, no incline so unless you were in the front row, poor viewing and no atmosphere.
I was a bit, meh.
Looks like a good training facility as it is, not so much for watching a game. TBBO is a better place to watch footy.

Could be a massive crowd.
Can't wait.
