That’s a reasonable trade
As long as the Hill deal is not for 10 and next years first

Not sure how long it takes for him to get to Adelaide Airport but from there it's about an hour in the air and after he collects his bags at Tulla it should only take him about 45 minutes to Linton Street depending on the traffic.

Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Good trade - so we've got 2 players and still have pick 10 plus some 3rd/4th round exchanges - not sure why PA did this deal??
Happiness is a warm pie!

Dosen't really matter. .
He is steak knives and he also helped in having Hill choose us as the two cousins wanted to play together.
If he gives us one ok year that will be good

Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Port got two first round draft picks and offloaded Ryder who is passed his prime and a player they didn't have a spot for.
We got a key defender who can swing forward and ruck support. Both teams win

Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Very.
Great defensive game.
Has an offensive side unlike Brown. He is also a lot quicker than Brown.
3cm taller and so better suited for playing on Lynch etc.
Can also play forward if required, though we will lock him in as our FB where he prefers to play.
At his height he is also another option to give the No 1 ruck chop outs in the ruck if required.

Very happy with that deal. Rekon thats more in our favour than theirs. I know a lot of Power fans not happy about loosing DH so he's definitely highly rated.

Looks like 10 and a future second rounder, reckon that’s a bit more palatable

Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Can't happen our first rounder is SAFE.
This deal sold our 2020 3rd rounder.
That means we can still sell our 2020 2nd and 4th rounders but not our 1st rounder.
A club can sell either their future 1st rounder or any number of their later future rounders but can't do both.
Only one exception - in the case of AFL corruption.
Hawthorn and GWS did a deal for O'Meara in which Hawthorn gave GWS their future 2nd rounder after they had already traded their future 1st rounder to St Kilda.
The trade details were submitted so late that they were not viewed until after the deadline so could not be amended.
The AFL had two choices: Allow their rules to be deliberately broken OR enforce the rules and disqualify the trade - consequence would have been O'Meara out of contract, goes into the preseason draft and lands at Essendon.
Gold Coast gets absolutely no compensation for the loss of O'Meara.
Despite ACE registering a protest within the first hour into at least two newspaper comments sections, the media refused to even mention the issue themselves.
A week later in aside to another story, there was mention of an admission from the AFL that they had made a "mistake" but would take no action.
All media personalities refused to even debate the issue.
The prostitutes in the media did an excellent cover up for the corrupt AFL.

Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Yep. A couple of reports saying that the hold up in the Hill deal is that we are unwilling to give a future first. Actually, isn’t it so that if a team gives up a future first, they aren’t allowed to give up further future picks from the same draft?Stephen Theodore wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:34pmLooks like 10 and a future second rounder, reckon that’s a bit more palatable
If that’s the case, our future first can’t be involved in the Hill deal, because we have dealt a future third to Port.
Ah...just spotted Ace’s post above saying the same thing.

Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
I might be wrong, but I think the rule involves trading out future first rounds in consecutive years, eg. if we trade out 2020 first round, we would not be allowed to trade out 2022 first round next year.st.byron wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:37pmYep. Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Kane Corners is doing his nut over this trade.
Says Port were crazy for letting Howard go. He is a potential star defender and this trade will come back to bite the Power.
In fact, Cornes called him a potential All Australian.
Says the St Kilda List Manager did a brilliant job.

The rule says if we trade our future first rounder we can't subsequently trade any second or third round futures in 2020.shrodes wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:38pmI might be wrong, but I think the rule involves trading out future first rounds in consecutive years, eg. if we trade out 2020 first round, we would not be allowed to trade out 2022 first round next year.st.byron wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:37pmYep. Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
Okay so that confirms it. Our future first is safe. Heads up too in the Trade thread, Acres has flown to Perth today to meet with Freo and could form part of the Hill deal.damienc wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:44pmThe rule says if we trade our future first rounder we can't subsequently trade any second or third round futures.shrodes wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:38pmI might be wrong, but I think the rule involves trading out future first rounds in consecutive years, eg. if we trade out 2020 first round, we would not be allowed to trade out 2022 first round next year.st.byron wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2019 3:37pmYep. Re: Dougal and Ryder Trade done.
We have got
Pick 10 for 2019, worth 1,395 points
Pick 76 for 2019, presently worth 0 points
Pick 82 for 2019, presently worth 0 points
St Kilda's 2nd round for 2020
St Kilda's 4th round for 2020
Port Adelaide's 4th round for 2020
The AFL will NOT allow us to trade our 1st round for 2020
We may sell Josh Bruce to the Mongels for a pathetic pick
We may sell Jack Steven to the pussies for a pathetic pick
So mister Ding Dong what would you like for Brad Hill.
PS You can't have pick 6 and you can't have our 2020 1st round.
They are not ours to give.
So stop dreaming.
