Sam Murray - get him in
This guy is a gun - was killing it for Collingwood before being caught with "traces" of cocaine in his system. Is now finished his ban and been delisted by Pies. Can seriously play and will get him for nothing. No way he will transgress again after being caught the first time (well low chance I think).
thoughts?
creative and skillful half-backs never go astray - especially seeing we have probably lost Roberton ....
1 year contract with a heap of clauses that protect the club if he puts a foot outta line .....he will jump at the chance.....
do it Saints. ....

Re: Sam Murray - get him in
In the few games he played he looked similar to Essendon’s Saad. Would get the ball, break the line with genuine speed and then have no clarity as to what his next move would be. I wouldn’t be upset if we got him for nothing on a one year deal.

As a cheap DFA is certainly worth a look as long as he is committed to not making the same mistake again.
His pace and run could be handy and he has talent. Just need to see if his attitude is up to it.

JUST Do IT SAINTS - no harm no foul. If it goes wrong it will onyly cost us a spot on the list. And considering rookie listed players can now play. Does that really mater?

Do we really need another cokehead at the club?

Who is the cokehead at the club? How long have they been in the system?
If we had one, surely they would have been suspended by now like Murray and caught.
Sounds like a Women's Day rumour to me. The sort of unsubstantiated filth you find in a tabloid mag that has no worth other than filling up your local GPs waiting room.

Knowing our recruiters, they will probably see him as a "crack" recruit.

Nice you agree. At least we know where Women's Day gets one of their subscribers from.The_Dud wrote: ↑Wed 18 Sep 2019 4:18pmOk Tedjohnnyrayflamingo wrote: ↑Wed 18 Sep 2019 3:58pmWho is the cokehead at the club? How long have they been in the system?

Re: Sam Murray - get him in
This seems on the money to me. Very odd that they'd hang onto him until now and cut him when it turns out he'll be able to play next year. If the club thinks he'll behave I'd be happy to give him a shot.

Re: Sam Murray - get him in
If we keep going into Drafts with only picks in the 4th and 5th rounds after having to trade our 1st rounder for a player(s). It is players like Murray, Bennell, Partington etc that we will need to consider.
All players that will improve our list / depth but like anyone coming into our club, the jury is out on whether they improve our best 22. So much has to go right and has to have changed for that to happen with those players.
