Credit where due
Whether you like it or not, whether you agree with the process or not, you have to agree that the club has been absolutely professional with not a leak, or whisper coming from any journo ,commentator etc re the coach. From a club that often leaks like a sieve when there’s a decision to be made , kudos to the club.

Re: Credit where due
Tom Browne said he expects Ratten will be announced Friday given there's a board meeting tomorrow night.

Re: Credit where due
I’d say that’s an educated guess...as it’s public knowledge that we have a board meeting this week.

48 hours is past ..... so where is the announcement.
Even if it is Ratten, it was still a guess.

tonestar - it’s obvious you are the chief bootstudder as you’ve never been fired and clearly not one of our coaches.tony74 wrote: ↑Wed 04 Sep 2019 3:35pm Whether you like it or not, whether you agree with the process or not, you have to agree that the club has been absolutely professional with not a leak, or whisper coming from any journo ,commentator etc re the coach. Tony
You seem like a great guy... but you’d be happy with the club if they reappointed Scott Watters

Don’t quite know what that’s got to do with the topic. My point is kudos for the club keeping this very much in house. And like everyone I hope they pick the right person. And we won’t know that for 2 or 3 years.
And I’m sure you’re a nice person too. FQF

Re: Credit where due
I heard a Mat Finnis quote on SEN radio today, stating how important and meticulous "our process" has been to make certain that the best available coach is chosen.
My question to Finnis is this - what happened with your process (which you were a party to), when Richardson was chosen ??
I am afraid that the only person with "credentials" on our appointment team, is the President (Andrew Bassat). Let's pray that he has imposed his professionalism on this selection.

Great call out Tony, was thinking the same today. Haven’t heard anything on targets, shortlists, interviews. Club playing like a proper professional organisation would with a key appointment.

Re: Credit where due
They didn’t have a process for Cho. Because they punted Watters so late, they literally approached him to apply as he was the 2nd place finisher in the Watters process.Junction Oval wrote: ↑Wed 04 Sep 2019 9:16pm I heard a Mat Finnis quote on SEN radio today, stating how important and meticulous "our process" has been to make certain that the best available coach is chosen.

Oh s*** ! Then "the process" for Watters and runner-up Richardson was a complete disaster. What does that say about Finnis and his mates this time around??

Debacle that Richo got the job really. Appoint the guy who came second to a guy we had to sack. If I our “process” identified Watters perhaps we should have gone for whoever they ruled out first!! Hope finnis has a better approach this time!Junction Oval wrote: ↑Wed 04 Sep 2019 9:49pm Saintmatt said :

NO NO NO!
Hinkley was neck and neck with Watters for coach when Lyon walked out, it was Richo who was a distant third.
its time to make a name for yourself like you've never made before!
