When did Constable become Patrick Cripps?
A lot of chatter on here about a 7 gamer who is not in Geelongs best 22.
Might be a jet, might be a dud, personally I have no idea as I have seen him on the TV once or twice.

Re: When did Constable become Patrick Cripps?
I think it is more that with the trade price of Steven having crashed that he may be a good way of extracting some vale out of he Cats.
If they give us a pick I suspect it would only be a late second, and I would rate Constable a lot higher than that.

Re: When did Constable become Patrick Cripps?
He is a Sandringham Dragon kid, 190cm+ and has averaged 21 disposals over his first 7 games
His disposal count in his 7 games has been 21 31 23 16 21 27 11 - he also averaged 5 marks a game and kicked 5 goals in those first 7 games
An inside beast with huge upside - has had a super impressive start to his AFL career

Also averaged around 4 tackles and most of those games were less than 70% game time - has racked them up in the VFL as well - had a 40+ recently against North ressies
Would think it's pretty hard to break into the Cats mid field currently given they finished top
He is only 20 as well - seems built for the game and likely ready to go next year
With him and Bytel extracting - Steele tagging - add some speed and skills outside - would spice things up a bit

Re: When did Constable become Patrick Cripps?
Good summaries of why he’s attractive. Young fella who could be a high quality mid if his initial burst onto the scene is anything to go by. Given a rising star nomination as well. Think he’s very much worth a punt. Has shown he has class and can fit in at senior level.Devilhead wrote: ↑Thu 29 Aug 2019 3:22pm Also averaged around 4 tackles and most of those games were less than 70% game time - has racked them up in the VFL as well - had a 40+ recently against North ressies

Charlie Constable or Charlie Gardiner. Doesn't matter, it's a (Ryan) Gamble when the Cats offer a trade.

You could 'see' it coming though. Remember, we had the best development coach going around back thenCURLY wrote: ↑Thu 29 Aug 2019 3:42pmAfter 7 games Jack Steven wasn't in our best 22.Joffa Burns wrote: ↑Thu 29 Aug 2019 2:57pm A lot of chatter on here about a 7 gamer who is not in Geelongs best 22.

Re: When did Constable become Patrick Cripps?
Constable will become a very good midfielder and would be a certain starter for us,ball magnet who goes at 70% efficiency,& 71% kicking at goal!

I think plays like Cripps was the description. He's no Patrick Cripps. How could he be? Constable's only played 7 games of footy for the Cats but each time he's played he's shown something significant.
Only 20 but averaging 21 disposals and four marks a game. He just keeps getting squeezed out of a talented Geelong line up.
Completely understand why the Saints might be into him. He has a very big upside. Very good user of the footy. Exceptional kick. Would boost our skill set which is pretty average to say the least.

If Steven really wants out I would be.more than happy with Constable........ and they can throw in their 2nd or 3rd rounder as well

Re: When did Constable become Patrick Cripps?
Cats would need to add a sweetener to the deal as well, maybe second rounder or even if first rounder considering it will be pick 15-20.
Question for someone that has some VFL knowledge, who else in their VFL team has been impressive & has youth on their side?

Geelong are always trying to give away their quality kids for tubby 30 year olds, no wonder they consistently languish at the bottom of the table...

And Tomlinson became Rance
