Where's the forgotten man?
In your opinion should he be Delisted or added to Depth?

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
I think we saw the problems with Savage and Brown yesterday
Carlisle is a required player - noting his history to resuming playing this season
Last year was on the back of not having played for a year and then back surgery impacting this season

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
Good analysis, agree with everything except I'd definitely keep Carlisle and not bring in Tomlinson. Also, the INs need to include a ruckman, we're very vulnerable if/when Marshall goes down.

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
I haven't seen much of him. Really included as it sounds like we are going after him and he could maybe play the mobile 2nd ruck.
Looking at his stats he is nothing that special.

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
I noticed Webster kicked 2 for Sandy. Anyone catch the game? Was he playing forward? I wonder if Ratts already has different plans for Jimmy.

Didn’t someone say it had to do with his mother or something along those lines?

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
I guess you’re thinking two first rounders out for Hill and Ben King, second rounder in for Stuv. Would be happy to see Charlie Constable on the ins list as a swap for Jack with another pick as well as Constable.

Brad Hill
Ben King
Charlie Constable
Someone as backup for Marshall - Goldstein?

Ins:
Ben King
Brad Hill
Relief ruckman
Tradeable:
Anyone except Gresham, Marshall, Steele, Steven (unless he's hellbent on leaving), Clark, Max King, Billings, Hind, Battle, Membrey, Carlisle (I cut him slack because he's injured).

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
Trouble is for that to make sense for GWS they need a pick low enough to use before someone reads out Greens name. That is the real value for them. So it really would depend on where GWS see another club calling out Greens name.
With Swans below us, they would probably call out Greens name as they are Sydney based. So our pick is no good to GWS.
That may mean that Crows hold the whip hand on such a swap. Their pick is earlier than ours, and as long as the Blues do not knock off the Cats will also be below the Swans.
Picks12/ 14 is also the sweet spot for the Crows to gran some SA talent at about their estimated draft cost and so do not have t pay overs.

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
BHill for our Pick5/6 and a pick back to us.
Steven wants to go....so something back for us. If we are lucky Constable with Saints agreeing to pay part of Steven's salary.
Tomlinson as a restricted FA.
Then it gets hard as we have little to trade in picks and players.

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
Purely a hypothetical as who would want to go to the Sun's at present?
Carlisle, Bruce and some steak knives like DMak to the Suns. Both go for huge $$$$.
Pick 1, BKing and Martin to Saints.
Suns get some mature bodies that they need desperately. We get two mids to add to Hill, Bytel, Steele and our support mids. BKing for the fuuture though will take a while.
However again, who would want to go to the Sun's at present?

If Jack S wants out he can't expect that plus a salary subsidy, can he. He would have to take a haircut so to speak?

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
When you are assembling a side from nothing, and we are building from nothing post the retirements of Fisher, Montagna and Riewoldt (who of class was left after those 3 retired following on the retirement of Hayes and others?) the one thing you do NOT do is trade out those you have assembled as the core of your side going forward (so particularly your First Round Draft Picks and players traded in where we only number Carlisle and Hannebery (the remainder of those we have recruited from other sides have come to St Kilda for playing opportunity)
You look to build - not chop and change
We simply do not have the player resources to trade for players - we have to build using Draft Picks and Free Agency players
Plus we have to build depth - particularly across certain demographics of our List
To me at least, to talk up a player who is a Seconds player at Geelong is a nonsense
With all due respect he is a Seconds player for a reason
We need to add class - so if we can get Hill for our First Round Draft Pick then we do that (because we are addressing a demographic deficiency with a known commodity - with class)
In regards our Rucks, we go for a known commodity - or 2 - in the Draft
They will be there
With the other King it will be up to him IF he wants to join his brother (noting that in footy there is no romance so don’t be seduced)
The real driver of improvement will be generic - because the very great majority of our Round 1 2020 side are already on our List - we will only be adding 1 or 2 not half a side
So those 1 or 2 need to be CLASS - and established class
Some of the projected 2020 sides on here hust do not cut the mustard - they include players who are the problem, have been the problem and who we need to move on from

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
Constable has a few aging stars in front of him, a bit like Tom Mitchell did at Swans when he was racking up stats in the NEAFL week after week.To the top wrote: ↑Tue 20 Aug 2019 8:09pm When you are assembling a side from nothing, and we are building from nothing post the retirements of Fisher, Montagna and Riewoldt (who of class was left after those 3 retired following on the retirement of Hayes and others?) the one thing you do NOT do is trade out those you have assembled as the core of your side going forward (so particularly your First Round Draft Picks and players traded in where we only number Carlisle and Hannebery (the remainder of those we have recruited from other sides have come to St Kilda for playing opportunity)

Re: Ins and Outs wishlist
Would want more than Constable for Steven . 4 time B & F , yes 30 but a definite B+ to A grade player when fit for a younger guy who cant get a game week in week out at Geelong. ??
Newness FA so can walk anywhere
Hill close to AA so 12 and Acres you suggest would be close but doubt they want McKenzie's contract.
Goldstein to join Steven at Geelong.
