Re: Let's give Richo some credit
Richo is getting the credit Richo deserves, he's certainly not going to drown in credit but at least it's lapping against his ankles. It really is as much as can be expected after nearly 6 years going a tick over 30% W/L.
Ratten is not dancing on his grave, he's not claiming credit where it's not deserved it. He's been smart, astute and respectful in regards to the caretaker role.

Not hard enough for long enough... for years.
Using observation today for the loss against Carlton.
Using wins for the last three years.
Just a below average team, with probable below average hardness. There’s no evidence to suggest anything else.

2015-2017
One of the best pressure teams in the AFL we scored more than anyone from mid turnover
2018
Lost the plot
2019
Changed our Game Plan completely and did alright, but with a poor list with many injuries, we are probably a win or two higher than expected really.

He's gone. Not a minute too soon. Unfortunately not up to it as a coach. This was a wasted year.
Posting 20 years of holey crap!

That was the noise from the club and many people here expected finals

Seriously, with our list
Many neutral pundits had us going bottom 2
Most bottom 4
Given injury, it really has been a great effort this year imo

Yep. Many considered 2018 an aberration and considered us finals bound, maybe even top 4 after our early wins

Many? I would be interested to know who the " many" are. Most considered Saints bottom 4, ie link below

I think too many took Ted's posts as the 10 Commandments - vale Monty Python's Life of Ted.
Even with our recruiting coups in Hannerbery & Kent plus our two long term injured draft picks & not knowing the seriousness of the injuries to Dylan & Paddy I would say a lot, including people on here had us bottom 6.
For me the wasted year is a compound effect of the previous year. To be honest, we exceeded expectations by 2 wins. No one imagined Melbourne being putrid or Essendon stinking it up early.
Two wins against GC all by under a goal says it all about 2019...a lot of horse trading, structure & training needs to go into 2020. Take solace from Brisbane's 2019.
