The "Ins" this week should be Acres, Steven, Haneberry - plus a look at White?
The "Outs"?
Take your pick from Long, Parker, Hind, Lonie who all went missing v Adelaide
And McKenzie.

Probably. They’ll hit decent match fitness just in time for the footy trip.

after the Captain"s Run, Jack was heading to showers
but was happy to stop and sign my cap, leaving me as excited as a teenage schoolgirl seeing her fave rock star.
NDS was in the winter of his career, but I can"t bear to think of Jack tearing through the field in any other colours

Cant say I totally agree. Eagles seem to be managing just fine with Hickey as their current lead ruckman. Winning many quality clearances.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Sun 04 Aug 2019 7:43pm
Can't see him forcing his way back, even if he does want to this season. Perhaps now we clearly have a good team forming he won't feel so much stress next year. I can only guess what it must have been like roving to Billy and Tom these last few years and being targeted every game. Also he would be digesting the prospect of a new coach and wondering who it might be.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

If Jack needs to go to the Cats, perhaps we should get them to do the dirty work to trade for Ben King. Gold Coast would do well with some reliable, senior players to enhance their game leadership and decision making. There real value in procuring a Hodge type personality or 2. We might have to given something more to enable this exchange though.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Mon 05 Aug 2019 2:03pmLooks llike we have to prepare for a range of possibilities, including, incredible as it seems, he might not be good enough to make the 22 anymore! Players like Jordan Lewis, Mitchell, Hodge etc., all decorated superstars and heroes, and all moved on around the age Steven will be next season, so the point about decorated club hero might not be watertight guarantees.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Mon 05 Aug 2019 1:29pmGeez, Barry, what rock have you been hiding under?BarryGrogan wrote: ↑Mon 05 Aug 2019 12:53pm What have I missed?
Since when does he want to leave?
Since when would you offload a 4 x B&F winner who provides the pace and ball winning ability that we need so badly?
Cats want him and we still want him, simple as that. Don't get your nickers in a twist.
Boy I hope it 'aint so. I'm still hoping that had Stuv been in against Adelaide, somehow, we might have one it.
Right now, it seems that Hanners and Stuv both borderline..incredible.

I agree with Mart. Jack unfit is still much more impactful than Langlands. Bring him on for short bursts.

Trading Hickey was the latest in a lot of very dumb decisions.kalsaint wrote: ↑Mon 05 Aug 2019 10:10pmCant say I totally agree. Eagles seem to be managing just fine with Hickey as their current lead ruckman. Winning many quality clearances.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Sun 04 Aug 2019 7:43pm

And no, Jack should have the rest of the season to just get right.

A 3 way trade ? We lose Steven but gain King.kalsaint wrote: ↑Mon 05 Aug 2019 10:14pmIf Jack needs to go to the Cats, perhaps we should get them to do the dirty work to trade for Ben King. Like your out of the box thinking.
Would like to hold Stuv, as you just never know what we might achieve if he and Hanna’s are fully fit next year. But if he wants to go well that’s a different conversation.

People on the Twitters are talking like they know that Jack wants to leave. Does anyone know if this is true?
Tom Morris thinks we'll get a mid second round in return and now I want to spew . I rate Jack very highly and he's clearly our best player. He seems very underated by outsiders.

He looks a bit fat. Doing ok at Sandy but not great.
I could be wrong though.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Will Jack Steven play senior football again in 2019?
Hard to believe that he is carrying any fat as he had a 4 to 5 weeks mini pre season and now 3 VFL games.
He looks ok at training and someone said he was wearing two jumpers in vfl.
Also he is tagged in VFL and he would have more freedom in the seniors.

We are a shyte team and they know we don’t have much bargaining power in this.saint-stu wrote: ↑Tue 06 Aug 2019 8:09am People on the Twitters are talking like they know that Jack wants to leave. Does anyone know if this is true?

We are bound to get screwed whilst on the flipside we have to pay overs to get good players to come to us.

Unfortunately more chance of going. Life has taken a few dodgy turns for one of our favourite sons.saint-stu wrote: ↑Tue 06 Aug 2019 8:09am People on the Twitters are talking like they know that Jack wants to leave. Does anyone know if this is true?

Sad to hear but, he's not the only one in life struggling. If JS does leave for his well-being then all I'd like in return is fair value. I don't care about the B & F's etc - that's history and he's hardly likely to win another one in this headspace ... wherever he ends up.
Surely Geelong's 1st rounder would be adequate although the thing I keep hearing now is that it'll likely involved Charlie Constable and possibly, their 4th string ruckman - Ryan Abbott.

Have a look at SEN- Richo says that last yr, Jack asked if he could be traded and AR said 'no Jack, we can't let you go, we need you' and 'the pull from Lorne has gotten stronger'...tony74 wrote: ↑Tue 06 Aug 2019 12:46pmUnfortunately more chance of going. So I thought AR going makes it easier for him to stay, but tony74 says it's not the coach
I will be gutted, can't believe he'll be in different colours

Re: Will Jack Steven play senior football again in 2019?
Ryan Abbott is a 28 y.o. ruckman.
If he's that age, and I know ruckmen get better with age,
but surely he's only fringe?
Constable was pick #36 in 2015.
Is he any good?

Re: Will Jack Steven play senior football again in 2019?
We should insist on a pick, or a better player. I suspect the pick would be better. (Or a first round pick for Steven).WellardSaint wrote: ↑Tue 06 Aug 2019 1:29pm Ryan Abbott is a 28 y.o. ruckman.

Geelong's rucks are only just ok and so they would not be offering him if he was any good.
We can pick up a state level ruck for free anyway.
