We’ve done it for years. We like to reward mediocrity. Done it with too many players too often.SuperDuper wrote: ↑Sun 04 Aug 2019 3:12amagreed. why on earth give a 23 year old fringe player 3 years?Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:17pm Anyone related to signing McKenzie need to be shown the door now!!!!

It’s a worry for next coach and was probably for the last one when you watch sandy playing you have to wonder and guess why they didn’t drop seniors down when theres fa to bring in

Re: Sack List Management
He just panics so often and causes scores against its ridiculous. He has his decent games but the bad ones really do him damage. He has been around long enough to get it out of his game but is still can be a liability.

Re: Sack List Management
He's an athlete pretending to be a footballer and you cant have them playing in your back half. You need good decision makers and good users of the ball. Paton has these attributes and is why he'll be straight back in next week and is who we need to stick with.
DMac did some goid things up forward and if they persist with him then thats where they need to play him.

Re: Sack List Management
Would be on very little coin.
With the amount of potential outs we have at the end of the year. Signing a guy who has some decent attributes for three years on very little money basically as an insurance/depth policy isn’t a bad decision imo

Re: Sack List Management
With a little objectivity, you might have noticed McKenzie was pretty damn fearless and clever after his early indiscretion. I don't think our list management people deserve the tirade that has just been dumped on them because of one player's indecision and a couple of clangers. It is possible some more objective posters may have noticed there were two teams playing last night and, sometimes when under pressure, our players will make mistakes. Yes, I sounded off when DMac coughed up to Tex but the next time the ball went to our forward line he was the player that kept it in there. Perhaps some posters need to address their anger management issues rather than vent at people who are busting their butt in the name of the StKilda Football Club. Just a thought, have a pleasant evening.

We would fail to have half a list if some of our supporters had their way in delistings and trades. Its hilarious. It's no doubt the same at every AFL club.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Came 10th in the b and f last year. I agree that sometimes he looks like a deer in the headlights but similar to Newnesy always has a role to play. Certainly not the worst last night.Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:17pm Anyone related to signing McKenzie need to be shown the door now!!!!

Thanks Tony. Got any news on potential individuals coming to the Saints? (Both on and offield)tony74 wrote: ↑Sun 04 Aug 2019 5:43pmCame 10th in the b and f last year. Re: Sack List Management
I don't think many people oppose him staying on but rather the length of the contract.
DMAc clearly has some talent - he's courageous, extremely fit and dedicated and like with most young players especially under the previous regimen: good games and bad with an overall flavor of stagnation.
The challenge is that at this time, he's a fringe player. Can I see him making it... absolutely. Could i see him fall away or be overtaken in his position and be a list clogger in 12 months time, that's a reasonable possibility as well harsh as it is.
Three years is a long time for a fringe player. He really deserved 12 months on current form until his form demanded a longer contract... not unlike Lonie

Re: Sack List Management
If we give 3 years to a one dimensional Melbourne fringe player & 4-5 years to a 28 YO following two seasons hampered by soft tissue injury, the signing of a 23 YO who was top 10 in B & F, is resilient & hard work for three years seems more than reasonable.
Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.

Re: Sack List Management
It was so funny right... McKenzie has barely been sighted after signing the deal. Ended the year not even making the emergencies.Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:17pm Anyone related to signing McKenzie need to be shown the door now!!!!
f*** me.
So many players put in a good show when they are in negotiation phase, only to disappear straight after.
This decision to re-sign McKenzie will stink forever.

Ok, so you've hung shyte at a few of our players and now you want to remind us of your opinion on another player you think is shyte. I suppose it's DMac's fault we lost yesterday too

Re: Sack List Management
I'd genuinely love to know who makes the calls on who we ultimately end up with.
At different times you read so and so wanted player x but was overruled by pres. or board etc.
I would envisage Clarko wants, and others make it happen.
We need to appoint our new coach sooner rather than later to get the process going forward.

Re: Sack List Management
We need List Managers who can recognise players with good foot skills, not List Managers that get excited because they've
convinced some washed up GOP to come and wind down at the Saints.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
