Re: How AFL Clubs pick coaches.
I heard Jason Dunstall say that the guys do their presentations and its during the whole process the potential coach will actually make a statement or comment that will demonstrate that he is the standout. He spoke about when Clarko interviewed he basically nailed it and they knew they had the right guy. Then again it depends on who's sitting in there and how much do they really understand as they really need do be sharing the same vision.

Dermie was on the Hawks selection panel and has openly said he didn’t pick Clarko because he disagreed with the game style Clarko described. Dermie went on to say that didn’t even end up being the game style they played.

Refresh my memory - who was the coach applying for our role when Watters was appointed, who had trouble getting his powerpoint presentation to open?
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Just heard this on the radio: "Coach is the wrong word - replace the word coach with leader". Who will be the best leader who can lead the players and the rest of the club to success?

So if not for a dodgy laptop we could have bi-passed the two years of misery under Watters and brought forward the six years of misery under Richo!

Would have been interesting with Milne, Kosi, Blake, Clint Jones and Farren Ray. We might have had to start the rebuild in 2016 if they all kept playing as long as Joey and Rooy and Gilbo.

Shaw got the job because he is well liked by the players, has done a good job while filling in, he is cheap, they couldnt get Longmire and North have to pay our Scotts contract so they will be broke.
