Votes v Dees
5. Bruce (was everywhere, and not just for kicking the goals when he should, but the second and third efforts)
4. Seb (best game all year; who knew he possessed a flat, accurate kick, & 2 great goals)
3. Gresh
1. Hunter
1. Sincs (also best game all year)
1. Steele
Membrey, Dunstan and Marshall unlucky. I reckon Dunstan is playing consistently better than I’ve ever seen him.

Re: Votes v Dees
Was just going to give them all to the the back line but lots of players earned a vote tonight:
2 Bruce
2 Marshall
2 Ross
2 Dunstan
1 Carlisle
1 Wilkie
1 Brown
1 Steele
1 Clark
1 Gresham
1 Membrey
Lonie - back to his putrid pre-good-Lonie self.
Gresham - lively but muddle-headed.
Paton, Hind, Langlands, Long, Clark - all very impressive.
Brown, Carlisle, Wilkie, Clark - a great foundation for a back line.

Re: Votes v Dees
Most other posters seem to think that Gresham was in our top 3 or 4 players. Don't take this the wrong way, because all voting by individuals is subjective and I'm only posting (as a sort of play on words) because I want to reply on your comment about Gresh being 'muddle-headed'.minneapolis wrote: ↑Mon 29 Jul 2019 3:40am Was just going to give them all to the the back line but lots of players earned a vote tonight:

You've given a lot of players similar votes. You've named half the squad! Surely there were standout performances from our guys weren't there? Perhaps your voting for this particular game is a bit muddle headed

Interesting Votes - Quite an even distribution

And no mention of Sinclair among the 15 players or so mentioned in our best. Most commentators put him in the best 3 St KIlda players on the ground.

Agree with this. Great summation.SinCitySainter wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 12:28am 5 - Ross, best on ground by the length of the flemington straight.
4 - Bruce, was a fantastic target all night.
3 - Gresham, best game I have seen from him in the midfield.
2 - Sinclair, his best game for the year.
1 - Long, with Ross was our most effective transition into the forward line player.
I also though Marshall was terrific in competing with Gawn and then having a bigger influence as the match wore on. In the key moments in he second half, Marshall was superb.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Gresh got plenty of the ball, loved his clearance work, but these up and under chip kicks have got to go.
Marshall was good in patches, but I reckon our expectations have skyrocketed for him, which is a good thing. Gawn kepr the Dees in the game in the 3rd qtr, he had a pretty good game for them.

Re: Votes v Dees
5. Bruce - when the game was in doubt he kept jumping in with some very good positive play to swing it our way
4. Ross - good consistent game which is what we need from our onballers
3. Brown- inconspicuous, but added massive strength and direction to the backline contests two weeks in a row
2. Sinclair -good in close and a lot of his work is not seen until you watch the replay
1. Dunstan- strong at the contest
Mention to Gresh, good game but he needs to work on his field kicking and consistency.

Glad to see Brown get some recognition. One of our best players and certainly the most consistent.

Seriously good analysis and commentary. It's a shame we didn't win Powerball a few weeks ago when it was $110 million

Bottom six to be added next year.
King, Bytel, Steven, Hannas. Robbo/Webster and Gears.
Certainly top 8 material.

Too bloody right. Ratten gets us into 7th spot next year and we win our first final since 2010
In 2021 we appoint Lenny as assistant to Ratts and we win the whole bloddy shabang
