Re: Sandy on TV today
I am in particular very interested in how Steven and Battle go.
Both could be good ins for Crows game.
The Crows have 3 tall forwards and so Battle in to play back could be a wise move.

Webster also would be in the mix if he plays well.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 11:51am I am in particular very interested in how Steven and Battle go.

True, though Webster has not played for a while and so may need a couple hit outs to gain match fitness and touch.George27 wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 11:59amWebster also would be in the mix if he plays well.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 11:51am I am in particular very interested in how Steven and Battle go.

Re: Sandy on TV today
I don’t want to be picky, but looks like Joyce is playing at FF and Battle down back.
We know Battle is good down back & understands his role. Wouldn’t it be better just to play him up forward to get the run in the legs & let Joyce keep playing down back so he can learn?

Parker needs to brush up on the rules. He just got done for being third man up at the ruck contest

Re: Sandy on TV today
Steven looking ok to me. Double figure possessions and a goal with a heavy tag in the first quarter.

Re: Sandy on TV today
Poor third quarter by Sandy.
From 5 goals up, only 1 point ahead at 3/4 time.
A very hard tag on Steven is frustrating him.

Re: Sandy on TV today
Sandy can't hit a target by hand or foot. Blew a 29 point lead; Sandy 6, Casey 63 at 3/ time.
Jack Steven may have had mental health issues bu it doesn't look like it has affected his appetite. He is wearing two guernseys, which may give he illusion of him being overweight, but he does not look at all like he is in AFL-ready shape.

Sandy are so bad.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Sandy on TV today
Underwhelming. Don't see a lot of Sandy as I only attend St Kilda matches and I'm usually busy. If today is how Sandy usually play then there really isn't a lot to come up from the Zebs. Apart from Rice who could probably replace Acres if he's injured, not much to get excited about. Might have to look at coaches at Sandy too, I would say, going by exposed form today.
A massive clean out at the end of the season I would say.

When was the last time they even played? April?

Re: Sandy on TV today
No one from today's game can seriously come into the Saints side unless there was an injury yesterday or during the week.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Tend to agree TBH.Jacks Back wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 4:55pm No one from today's game can seriously come into the Saints side unless there was an injury yesterday or during the week.
I'd like to know if our listed players have different or adjusted measurements / KPIs aattributed to their VFL games? It must be difficult at times for senior players returning from injury to adjust.
The mirror example of that is Coffield, by all reports hadn't set the world on fire but now settling in the AFL, surrounded by better players & a better system, looks at home.

Re: Sandy on TV today
Rice could come in next week if Acres is injured. The others all looked a fair way off it.
Sandy didn't really combine well as a team though, particularly in the second half, when their intensity fell away.

Re: Sandy on TV today
The umpires seemed to let the game go towards the end. Eg Preuss took the ball out of the ruck and got tackled but no free kick.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sun 28 Jul 2019 1:09pm Parker needs to brush up on the rules. He just got done for being third man up at the ruck contest

Re: Sandy on TV today
I didn't think they did too much but the standard in the VFL is atrocious.
Goals: Steven 2, Joyce 2, Owens 2, Answerth, Parker, Rice, Seccull & Young.
Disposals: Fox 27, Seccull 22, Phillips 20, White 20 & Battle 19.
