Barometer, if you think I’ve been here two weeks, you’ve got no idea. Many on here know exactly who I am. My first posts on this site, were a review on the 2001 draft.
I remember names like Statsman, Eastern, Savatage, Harvey’s D, Damien and so forth... obviously well before your time.
Is Skrobalak a good forwards coach? Well he’s NEVER coached a forward line so we don’t know?
They did kick a 100 points on the weekend, but if you know footy, you’d know the scoring was on the back of mid-turnovers which are the easiest way to score because the opposition are running forward, and get turned around. We also waltzed the ball through the middle which makes it easier for forwards. You can also add that their best key defenders are pretty useless, especially #12.
That being said
Ratten and Skrobolak had 1 training session with the players for an hour and a half. Do you think the changed the entire way we played in 1 session?
We played more attacking footy at times, especially off HB, and took it on through the middle off turn over a bit. That’s about all. Maybe we pushed our forwards up and got them over the back a few times as well.

Chris Fagan never played or coached at AFL level so therefore not capable of doing it.
Good logic.

Re: Skrobolak new Forward coach
There are no full time ruck coaches, these are specialist roles that are normally part time. Lade does not want to be a part time specialist coachB.M wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul 2019 8:19pm Why can’t Lade be the ruck coach? Considering he is a premiership ruckman, who played 200 games as a very good AFL ruckman?
On Skrobolak, the guy may well be a good football coach, and good communicator, good developer and probably good guy.
And you’re right, for the six weeks of this season what’s the big deal?
But, regardless of how he goes, I want a forward EXPERT coaching our forwards in 2020.
And my choice is Jarrod Roughead.
I also want an expert mid coaching the mids, but would get laughed off the site if I gave my preference.
That’s given, Hayes, Mitchell, Harvey we’re off the table.

Re: Skrobolak new Forward coach
Lade can surely add that role to his primary duties.
Not hard to spend 30 mins after a session working with the Ruckmen, or when they are doing midfield drills incorporating his Ruck tactics
Too many coaches anyway.
Or demote him to part time, I don’t rate his coaching anyway, he’s never been part of a successful coaching team.
