NICK RIEWOLDT
The club need to get him on the board ASAP.
The time is right, RIGHT NOW.
This club needs someone like Nick with his intelligence on football matters to make great decisions.
I also think Nick Riewoldt should be on the coaching panel to select the next coach.
If he put his hand up to coach I'd even back him in to do that.
The St.kilda football club has been run by buffoons for most of it's entire history.
Get Nick Riewoldt on the board NOW.

Re: NICK RIEWOLDT
NR was never coming back to the Saints until Richo departed FT.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

He said on the radio last week that he isn’t planning on joining the St Kilda board anytime soon but hasn’t ruled it out in the future.

Would love to see him involved.
His integrity, passion, experience and intelligence would be a huge plus.

I guess he'd be able to get the move to Tasmania done a wee bit more smoothly if he was on the board

But in the new green economy of Australia, buffoons have equal rights (actually priority rights but don't tell anyone).barks4eva wrote: ↑Tue 16 Jul 2019 3:55pm The club need to get him on the board ASAP.

Needs to be on the selection committee - someone who has actually played the game, not just been around it

With respect to Nick, I think we need to stop this adulation of past stars as some kind of cure-all for our woes. Nick was a champion, and quality guy, but has no track record off the field. We need to move on, get ruthless and drill down to those who can hit the track running.

Re: NICK RIEWOLDT
Yeah, I agree Nick should be on the panel. Perhaps another successful recently retired player, not from STK like Murphy or Roughead or Goddard
I would love to see either David Parkin (and if you ever heard him speak, you’d know why) or much to my chagrin Malthouse or Matthews. An experienced premiership coach.
And a high level recruitment specialist. And a psych.
And to me it’s down to three
Scott, Ratten, Caracella

Parkin has tertiary qualifications in coaching, that he earned years ago, and I cant recall what exactly, but when I read about it, I was impressedB.M wrote: ↑Tue 16 Jul 2019 8:24pm Yeah, I agree Nick should be on the panel. Re: NICK RIEWOLDT
Parkin was one of my Lecturers at Deakin in the 90s for Sports Coaching and Management.
A master communicator and coaching boffin!
He is thought provoking, engaging and obviously knows footy, and has stayed involved.
He was at the VAFA coaches conference last year as keynote speaker, and blew everyone away, with a 45 minute presentation which was totally unscripted and not one person took their eyes off him, he then did 15m question time, which ended up going for half an hour.
He is intense, intimidating, but also respectful and friendly.

Re: NICK RIEWOLDT
Totally agree about Parkin... but didn't Malthouse recommend both Waters and Richo??.... I would stay well away from him if he recommended both,so I presume he would have recommended them if on a formal panel??.. big pass for meB.M wrote: ↑Tue 16 Jul 2019 8:24pm Yeah, I agree Nick should be on the panel.
