Major Chol - Free Agent
I read on the AFL site that Chol is an unrestricted FA ontracted until the end of this year
22 yo - doing well at Tigers can ruck and go forward
Could he be our answer to another forward/ruck combining with Marshall?

Re: Major Chol - Free Agent
Can't imagine Richmond not keeping him but we should be looking at any FA that will improve us and we will need someone who can ruck at the end of the year.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

He looked great against us the other week. Definitely worth looking at, if he the Tiges aren't prepared to keep him on their list.

Re: Major Chol - Free Agent
The article says he is unrestricted which mean Tigers cant match our offer
With Nankervis to return and Soldo their number 2 choice we might be able to pry him loose for a not over the top offer given that Tigers cap must be tight

He impressed me in the Richmond game. Has youth on his side and would prefer him to Goldy largely for that reason.
The field Marshall and the Major. Has a nice ring to it

Re: Major Chol - Free Agent
Chol is pretty raw but he would be able to give Marshall a chop out when required and we can play two agile marking twin towers deep in the forward line (King and Chol) with Bruce roaming from CHF - Lonie and Gresh at their feet and Membery mobile across the arc
Food for thought

Yep, Chol would be the type of back up we need for Marshall.Devilhead wrote: ↑Sun 14 Jul 2019 6:58pm Chol is pretty raw but he would be able to give Marshall a chop out when required and we can play two agile marking twin towers deep in the forward line (King and Chol) with Bruce roaming from CHF - Lonie and Gresh at their feet and Membery mobile across the arc

Could potentially play forward or back and is super athletic.
It would be the most athletic and versatile ruck/ forward combo in the competition.

Re: Major Chol - Free Agent
Assuming that Chol would continue to improve - he has always kicked goals in VFL and is averaging 2 per game this yearJoffa Burns wrote: ↑Sun 14 Jul 2019 7:02pmYep, Chol would be the type of back up we need for Marshall.Devilhead wrote: ↑Sun 14 Jul 2019 6:58pm Chol is pretty raw but he would be able to give Marshall a chop out when required and we can play two agile marking twin towers deep in the forward line (King and Chol) with Bruce roaming from CHF - Lonie and Gresh at their feet and Membery mobile across the arc

A 2 ruck combo and both can play forward
He cant be on that much at the Tigers given his rookie status so a Draper like 4 year deal might just be enough
We can still keep Longer and Pierce as back up - or at least one

Re: Major Chol - Free Agent
16 disps (13 kicks 3 hballs), 9 marks, 7 hitouts and 3 goals
Just what you need for a 2nd ruck
Allows Bruce and Acres to stay in set positions not having to worry about rucking
Allows us to keep a structured forward set up which we currently do not have once Bruce has to ruck - even when he isn't rucking its not structured right anyway

"......this is ground control to Major Chol......"
He can't be 22 and a FA?? Out of contract, maybe, but no free agent.....
He has struggled to play many games - he may have entered the Callum Sinclair Club - where the Saints make duds look like superstars.....

There are new rules dealing with players that were listed then rookied. They get treated like RFA's from what i understand.St Chris wrote: ↑Mon 15 Jul 2019 10:54am "......this is ground control to Major Chol......"

I dont know anything about chol other than his game against us and he was very good.
Beautiful kick, good mark and huge leap.
Cost us a lot less than the other alternatives.

Re: Major Chol - Free Agent
On what they have shown recently if Richmond had to choose between keeping Chol or Soldo I suspect they would lean towards retaining Chol.

Yes is a UFA.
(EDITED Due to Brain Fade !!!)
Player would need to want to come to us first. Tigers would have to look as an attractive home at present. Tigers will be tight for $$$ though.

Restricted is when Tigers can match the bid ..... unrestricted I don't think so
