Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
It's coming our way. Personally, I reckon we are going to get pick 3....maybe 4....at a stretch 5. The Blues and Suns won't overtake us.
We need to recruit a key back....just joking....the best mid. Please. Please. Please. Its an absolute requirement after getting Winxy last year.

Why so negative?
We are sitting equal 14th and only 3 games and % outside the 8.

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
We need to work some magic, to some how get Noah Anderson. If this may mean we need to trade with Adelaide to move up the order. Eg a player & pick 3 for pick 2. So be it!

Would be ideal. Anderson is the best player in the draft IMO. Has everything.

GC to have first pick. So if you want Anderson he may be gone.

Prefer Brodie Kemp - Cripps / Bont clone from all reports and likely has higher ceilingtedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 14 Jul 2019 10:11pmWould be ideal. Anderson is the best player in the draft IMO. Has everything.

Agree on Anderson, but will not likely be at our pick unless we draft up

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
Melbourne and Carlton games big in relation to draft position - Carlton Teague trying to get job so will be flat out- Melbourne trying to build momentum after a disaster season . if drop both could be 2 but most likely will be 3

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
Anderson, Kemp, Rowell are the three who stand out, I have them in that order.
Rowell is the best player currently
Anderson will most likely end up a better player
Kemp could possibly be the best of them, but could also disappoint a bit, he’s not a sure thing but does have nice attributes

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
3 games to have a big bearing on our pick.
The St Kilda v Melbourne game will most likely have a large effect on where our draft pick will be.
AS will the Carlton St Kilda game and St Kilda Freo games.
Saints anywhere from Pick 2 to 6.
You would think that we would win one more game though. Maybe all three.

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
Rowell is comfortably the best player from this draft. He’s not tall, or super quick, or flashy, he just does football to an elite level. Joel Selwood type. He’ll go pick one though & rot away at the Gold Coast graveyard.

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
I see us winning two maybe three more, meaning we finish 13th to 15th. So pick 4 to 6, which may be pick 5 to 7 depending on what the AFL decree regarding the Suns.
If the Suns get a priority pick and a generous pick Two, that may make a deal possible...a swap of draft picks plus a player(s) or future pick.
We do need to get to the Top Two picks & secure one of Rowell or Anderson.

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
I think at this stage the club really needs to focus on the right coach and a couple of ready made A graders to support all our recent draft picks otherwise we will plummet even further.

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
With any luck whoever comes in to coach has the fortitude to stand up to our recruiters and say "No, I dont want an injured player or half back flanker. Gimme the best mid for my top five pick".
Maybe.
Maybe.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Re: Pick 3 to 5 in the draft
When in doubt, just pick the most injured.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."
