Priority pick for Saints
https://www.theroar.com.au/2019/07/09/a ... st-please/
Makes sense this article but it will never happen. You can't give a priority pick to a side that has already won 6 games. Gold Coast can get stuffed too. They have had ten times as many first rounders as us.

Re: Priority pick for Saints
Yep. We have won 6 games and can possibly win another 2 or 3.
Scores and margins are irrelevant, it's the win loss ratio that counts.

Suns haven’t played finals, when did they enter the league? 2011??
What else is significant about that season?

Gees I’d love for St Kilda to get a bite at the cherry like the Suns or Giants.
Gold Coast already lining up for a second bite.

They need to amalgamate!

Don't forget you are on 2 strikes already and the forum would not be the same without your pearls of wisdom and inside information.

Re: Priority pick for Saints
WTF?
I'm surprised by that comment.
Anyone exposed to elite sport knows the difference between 1st and 10th can be 3 one hundreth of a second.
In athletics its reaction time to the gun, in swimming its nailing the turn and getting the stroke rate right with 8 meters to go to nail your touch, that is the difference between gold and 4th.
A guess you were not happy with our 66 win then?

Re: Priority pick for Saints
We were winning by an inch in the 2010 grand final, and one kick was the difference between glory and heartache.
So would I have preferred to be a mile in front, rather than 5 points, yep

Re: Priority pick for Saints
I’m trying to get your point, I think it is that it is better to have a buffer than be tight.
If you had exposure to elite level sport you’d understand the tolerances are so small that the luxury of margin is not possible.
At elite level there is no margin.

If he pulls this off it's one small claw from the abyss he's sinking in. I'd love to get back into the 2nd round of the draft, gives us two in the Top 25.

If McCartin and Roberton retire, we should push hard for what we can within the rules.
Here's a thought - If they were free agents that were taken by other clubs, what compensation would we get?
