No idea. Just know we are keen on Brad based on recent reports. Exactly what we need.

I have not read that. Do you have a link where Hill actually says that he wants to come back?tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Fri 05 Jul 2019 12:00am Hill wanting to return to Vic was already well known.
I have only read about things like "My missus is from Melbourne and we haven't really had that chat," Hill told 6PR radio about a potential return to Victoria.
Plus there was a Foxtel Commentator who recently reported at half time during a game a year old story of Hill wanting to come back. Which Hawks fans then started running with that he was returning to the Hawks not realising it was a current story.
Hill is in red hot form now and so trade price would be very high. But agree is the type of player we need.
Supsect Hill's Manager mainly wants to hit up Freo for more $$$ due to Hill's recent form.

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
Hill is coming to Vic it seems because of his girlfriend more than anything.
He could fit in well with the Saints because of our indigenous boys already there. I wonder if they know each other. Interesting.

We have about 36 white blokes on our list and a heap more in the coaching ranks.
I wonder if Dave knows any of the other white fellas at our club and if their presence could help lure him to the saints?

So
"My missus is from Melbourne and we haven't really had that chat," Hill told 6PR radio about a potential return to Victoria.
despite that Hill says that he has not discussed it with his missus according to you Hill is coming to Vic because of his missus. Interesting.
I guess I did see on Facebook a pic of his missus in Victoria and so I can understand that it must be a done deal.
She was with SOS though who was smiling. Gubby there too but crying was crying though. So perhaps that means it is a done deal that Hill be joining the Blues.

Then St Kilda offers $1.8m to this bloke to be our #1 ruckman.
The loonies have obviously escaped and moved into Linton Street.
What makes our club believe they have the ability to repair seriously damaged players?
Apparently he can now walk without a frame or walking stick!

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
If Longer and Pierce are gone, which is likely then there is need for a BACK UP ruckman. In case our best young player gets injured.
Draper makes sense and 400K per year seems reasonable
What I don’t get, is this idea of bringing in Goldstein, who is not a back up ruckman, he is a number 1, and probably as good as Marshall. Would recruiting Goldstein to play twos in case of injury make sense?
Would we like to see Goldy taking minutes from the current number 1 to lessen his impact?

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
Apparently Essendon want a first round pick or Max King
This news makes me angry because I reckon we’ll bend over and give a first round pick for another injured player that’s not meeting the hype currently

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
So we’re reportedly offering a $1.8m deal for someone we don’t think is worth a second round draft pick?

It's not much money to entice a player these days. Times have changed. I haven't seen the offer...has anyone? Its speculation anyway.

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
It's more than we're paying Kent and he'd at least played AFL. It's a truckload, half the size of Hannerbury's truck but at least Hannerbury's was superannuation for a stellar career with Sydney. It's a lot of money for an apprentice.
I'm sure we could spend that on a player with better credentials and could offer more immediately.

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
We need a back up Ruckman after we dump Longer and Pierce.
To get one from another club will obviously cost more money than they can get at that club (otherwise why would they leave?)
He’s been offered 450k per year, which is about what an important fringe player recruited would get. Like Marshall, when he was rookied they obviously see potential in him.
Goldstein on the other hand would demand 600k to either be a back up Ruckman or relegate Marshall to back up
Do we want that situation?

My god Ted... please tell me you’re not in anyway affiliated with the club. I’ve never come across a forumite whose impression of everything is so completely wrong.
Every instance, every instinct... quite literally every opinion you have astounds me in a bad way.
Richo is a good coach
The saints are performing well
$800k for Hannebery is great
$1.8mill for an Essendon rookie
Paddy to put it together
On and on it goes

Re: Draper from Essendon Trade
If the Bombers don't want to do a fair deal, then they can stick it up their arse.
With all the talk surrounding Draper and also the options for Goldstien as an unrestricted free agent I'm pretty excited about the Saints Next Generation Academy prospect in Biggie Nyuon. Hopefully he only costs us a 3rd round pick or 4th rounder. Biggie can be a versatile tall playing back, forward and in the ruck. Plus we have Max King who will get another year to bulk up.
Jake Carlisle is 198cm and probably as versatile as a Shaun McKernan or Rhys Stanley or Mark Blicavs. I think he should be used more as a back up ruckman. We should just try and lure Paddy Ryder or Goldy and hopefully Biggie and Max King can get some good developmemt under these guys plus Skrobalak and RoMa.
Nearly forgot about Mabior Chol and Alir Alir (who is playing ruck today) and Alir is listed at only 196cm. Biggie is still growing and he has an oustanding vertical leap so he might be the way forward.

Trading with Essendon = no thanks, they're cheats and crooks
Paying $1.8m for a bloke who was drafted as a rookie, and hasn't played a senior game in 3 years = you've gotta be joking.
Recruiting a player with an ACL = please NO

I don't have a problem so much with the $1.8m over 4 years. It is just that I doubt you could get a fair trade done with Essendon.
Having said that I have long been of the opinion that you go out and get mature rucks when you need them, or pay peanuts like we did with Pierce and Marshall.

Offer them nothing and take him in the pre season draft if that still exists, or ND
No one else will select him at 450k and we have loads of cap space
