The Positives
Pick 7 and 8. Hopefully they cement a spot on then home and have a good pre season.
Jake was stuffed in 4th which allowed Lynch to get cheapies but up until then he completely dominated him.

Re: The Positives
Lots of positives today and a brave effort for most of the game against a real top 4 side when fully fit.
We got beat by class and players 3-4 years ahead of ours in development. A young Saints couldn't keep up the pressure and intensity all game. It showed in the last.
Clark was outstanding. Coffield belongs. Marshall keeps going.
We need Steven back and another gun mid for 2020.

No positives .... we were slow moving the ball and were smashed in the middle all game - we choked kicking for goal in the 2nd half and gave up towards the end when the game was still there to be won

Re: The Positives
Watch the game again, 2nd game back for Jake from a serious injury with no pre season. Its common for players to stuggle in thier 2nd game in that situation.
Coaching might have hurt us today. The game plan either changed after half time or the players tightened up.

Too true. The first 10 minutes we took the game on. Then for most of the game: sideways, backwards, repeat, long bomb, smashed! Awful to watch. Taking the game on creates chances.

Kick the ball sideways at every opportunity?
Give opposition ample time to clog our forward line?
We have a lack of keadership and some serious front runners in our side not prepared too take risks and put their bodies on the line waiting for easy ball
The straw finally broke today for me
We need immediate change to reset and invigorate tthe players mindset

Sideways and backwards is Richo’s trademark.
Once the opposition gets everyone back, then it’s time to boot it long to 2 on 5 contests.
Sign him up for 20 years whilst we still can!

Re: The Positives
When you calm down watch the replay. Parts of the half were run and gun, taking the game on and moving the ball quickly. Completely took the oppo by surprise and then for whatever reason we went back to possession game which is fraught with danger against a side like Richmond. They just waited for the turnover which they would have been confident of happening.Devilhead wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 5:11pmWhat game plan?HighettMan wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 5:04pm Watch the game again, 2nd game back for Jake from a serious injury with no pre season. We got a few goals from Tiger turnovers which allowed us to run and gun

Re: The Positives
We were in front so Cho said to them at the break to take time off the clock and control the footy
The game was always going to be about winning contested footy and we just played bruise free footy after half time...as per instructions from the coach. In other words, Cho has no idea how to win a game of footy
The positives are that we have very good players and they will perform a lot better as a team when a new leader is appointed

Re: The Positives
Yeah I think most have moved on from Alan. That will sort itself out soon enough but there is still 9 H&A games that can't be wasted in terms of continuing our developer and list build. These next 9 games are super critical. I think we will finish the season stronger with maybe 4 or 5 wins.Devilhead wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 5:31pmThe slow sideways movement was evident all game when we had the ball static at half back - no one running pastHighettMan wrote: ↑Sun 30 Jun 2019 5:24pmWhen you calm down watch the replay. Clark and Coffield impressed in the roles they played today. Also thought Long showed a bit more than he has been

Re: The Positives
Yep. Hopefully Coffield takes a lot of confidence out of that and keeps his spot for the remainder of the season. If he can do that it will be hugely beneficial to him and the team.
RoMo....how could we leave him out of the positives. I think we may have an A grade ruckman on our hands. He's well ahead of the curve.

Re: The Positives
Coff went at 90% + with DE and Clark went at 86%. Ben Long should be playing each and every week for the rest of this year as should Coff and Clark
Parker and Long were servicable today. Love their attack on the footy and their aggressive nature. It needs to be encouraged. Need to improve their tank and they will probably take over from some of the guys in the middle

I think we have an eye on getting our best kids and younger players ready for 2020.
Clark. Coffield. Long. Marshall. Battle. They all come to mind.
Forget finals now. It's not important.

Re: The Positives
Good game. Enjoyed it. Showed what we could do in the first half. Richmond then used their experience and extra class to get on top, slowed us down, and we also started to miss a few shots and couldn't keep up the pressure. As stated by others Clark & Coffield showed a lot, especially Clark. Carlisle still getting going, but was not desperate enough for me. Marshall doing very well, wins more hit outs now, but not many go to real advantage. Once he improves that, he will be in the top echelon of ruckmen. Steele will be better for the run.
Get Steven back, another mid recruit, more games into Parker/Hind/Long, I think we will challenge most teams. Need to keep the effort at a high level.

You imbecile. Week after week you crap on about bouncing back, winnable games, etc, etc.
Now it’s turned to finals not being important.
Give us all a spell.

We were still in the hunt for finals until today. We need to start repositioning ourselves for 2020 now with an eye on getting players developed for next year. It's what's best for the club.
