Risky selections but Richo is coaching for his career. If it goes pear-shaped, we at least know who to blame.

Re: Team v Lions, Carlisle and Hannebery in
If I put my concerns on match fitness aside I quite like the two inclusions. However it would be easier to have Hanners play less game time than Carlisle.
Looking at the Lions key forwards Carlisle and Battle are better match ups with Marsh in reserve.
Brown is a good stopper, but Carlisle is do much more attacking and is great intercept mark.
Keeping Battle back I think is a good move. He has had a good season down back and so why keep the momentum that has been gained by him really growing into the role of a kp defender.
He may ultimately go back forward but playing back I think is good for both him and the team at present.

Re: Team v Lions, Carlisle and Hannebery in
I think the selection of Carlisle and Hannebery is a big mistake. Carlisle is one VFL game back after missing the past three months. Against a very fast Brisbane team, he will be cooked by half time. After a back injury, the risk of a hamstring tear is very high. As for Hannebery, he's had two VFL games, but with limited game time. Surely, the right thing to do would be to play him at least one more time at VFL level and give him maximum game time. I normally back in our fitness staff, but in the decision to play Geary straight away after his awful injury (which I thought was a mistake at the time) and in this decision about Hennbery and Carlisle, I think they've erred.

Why drop Brown, our most experienced defender especially with an underdone Carlisle, bad call in my opinion.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

I'm waiting for the late change. Carlisle out, Brown in.
And Brown was decent too...but overall very pumped that they are back. Hanners playing 60% of gametime at 60% of his potential is, I summise, better than the other options we have,

Re: Team v Lions, Carlisle and Hannebery in
Why not keep Brown and play Carlisle forward? Look at White last week on one leg and could have kicked three goals in a quarter by staying forward. Look at Charlie Curnow. Stayed in the 50m arc and kicked 7. Carlisle could start back and put Battle forward and swap them around later if Carlisle tires.
I still don't understand what Richo would do if McCartin was fit or King came good quicker. Surely they would play along with Bruce and Membrey?
I thought Battle down back was to cover Carlisle's injury. Now that Carlisle is back then Battle to the forward line I would have thought.

Like many above I think Brownie has been playing well and has been rock solid.

Should we have a poll for which quarter Hanners develops hamstring awareness?

Both Armo and Hanners in the same side. Hmmmm...who would have thunk.
Hope our young and inexperienced blokes are up for the challenge. Hope JB, Marshall, Wilkie, Gresh, Membrey, Acres, Ross and Dunny have huge games.
And for all you Richo supporters, how's that awesome recruiting coup of nabbing NjB from Collingwood's VFL team going?

Jake needs a bit more VFL before he's ready, apparently?

They also let Gears play in China.
Underdone. He wasn't mentally ready.
Not good.

Don't mind Brown going out - if they'd dropped anyone else for Carlisle the word on here would have been "what's the point playing brown, he's not the future..."
I'm more concerned that bringing Hanners in doesn't disrupt the fledgling leadership potential of Billings, Gresham and co. Fingers crossed his confidence doesn't push them back into their shells.

Interesting selections - hopefully no injuries
A more relevant selection though is the AFL selecting #2 N. Foot?

Re: Team v Lions, Carlisle and Hannebery in
So who locks down Neale? Carlton did this with great success in the 2nd half and look what happened.
Could Newnes play this role? He's reportedly kept in because of his tank so why not give him a role to play instead of, well not really sure what his role is at the moment is, except to make up numbers. If he can run all day, have him running all day on Neale's coat tails.

Armo was critical in our comeback last week so earns a spot and hanners a no brainer. Not sure how many games Dave has in him though i think we have enough run with Hind and Clark staying in.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 21 Jun 2019 1:01pmCareful...you're stalking againHighettMan wrote: ↑Fri 21 Jun 2019 7:47amThis is good, only three short paragraphs, still doesn't make sense but I like it.Scollop wrote: ↑Fri 21 Jun 2019 3:22am Both Armo and Hanners in the same side. Not sure what you are alluding to with Brown, we got him for nothing as a rfa, and he costs a pack of chips, played 40ish games and is in his last year. He has been really good cover for us, particularly this year with injuries. Carlisle is a better match up for the Bears tall mobile forwards, so makes sense - horses for courses I would have thought.

I hope Hanners coming in doesn’t mean Cho shafts Acres from the midfield again.

Can't see Hanners playing ruck. But then again, Mr Versatility may try it. Hopefully Blake still rotates through there, if not, time on the wing.
