Keep Cho to get Coniglio?
Silly hypothetical....
But it's highly unlikely that a 'big fish' of the calibre of Coniglio would choose a club that has just sacked their coach and doesn't know who will be in charge when he gets there.
So on that basis, if we want Lo, we gotta keep Cho.
However the flipside is surely, that Cho would not be a factor in the Lo choosing the Saints. But if we were to sack Cho and get a new coach that perhaps could be a lure - we ciuld improve our chances of getting the Lo.
But, we'd have to move very, very fast on that.
So has Cho somehow dodged another bullet?

Re: Keep Cho to get Coniglio?
Coniglio doesn't have a choice who coaches the Saints if he wants to come.
Personally, I wouldn't care who is coaching when you are on 1.5m @ 5 years at 25 years of age.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Maybe he wouldn't come if Richo is still with the club ..that would be more likely

Not saying that it isn't a factor, but not everyone is motivated by money.

Not interested in us anyway.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Re: Keep Cho to get Coniglio?
Well obviously. Not saying he picks the coach, but whomever it is could influence his choice whether to come or not.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jun 2019 1:48pm Coniglio doesn't have a choice who coaches the Saints if he wants to come.
I probably wouldn't either.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jun 2019 1:48pm Personally, I wouldn't care who is coaching when you are on 1.5m @ 5 years at 25 years of age.
But if I could get 900k and a great coach somehere else, that might be more appealing to a 25yo gun.

Re: Keep Cho to get Coniglio?
So if that is the case, the club really needs to sit down and understand exactly these guys don't want to come to Moorabbin.
Much of it we will have no control over (ie. big games etc.), but they really need to address why thia keeps happening.

But Barry, what about your Coniglio (swipe left) comment? Is this just another one of your threads to divert attention to you and ignore the fact that you treated the original story as piffle?

Apparently on Tinder, when you're looking for a root, you swipe left on all the ugly ones until you find someone hot.
We're the ugly one.

Re: Keep Cho to get Coniglio?
Let's offer Lenny Hayes a job and make him more comfortable at our club
Or...does Stephen's dad need a job?
Does Gubby have any dirt on him? We need to play dirty. I'm sure our opponents would
Maybe Warney or Eric Bana could ask him if wants to meet some celebs.
Let's offer him the captaincy. Can Gill McMachlan offer him his au pair?

Re: Keep Cho to get Coniglio?
We need a circuit breaker.
In 2001, Dot.com millionaire and nose-candy enthusiast Rod Butterss hired Malcolm Blight at great expense and fired him at Round 15.
A terrible mistake except that it enticed the G-train and Hamill to the club and boosted our prestige.
A big coaching appointment like Sam Mitchell would do that right now.
if the Roos get John Longmire it will do the same for them.
Richo wears about him an aura of malaise. Only an unlikely finals appearance this year will save him.

I seem to recall that Akermanis overlooked us as we were transitioning coaches from GT to Lyon
Shame... was exactly the player we needed in 09-10

Pass.
Then they’d be on one flag like us.
Regardless of where they finish, salary cap pressure is still immense with that club and if our golden carrot is massive, it will be hard to resist. Gubby & Gags will do some magic
