THIS IS WHY RICHO HAS TO GO
The players are responsible for their own mental states and their passion for the game. However, when the entire team is playing a gutless, cowardly, pathetic and insipid brand of football the system under which they play is rotten.
The players need to hang their heads, whether first gamers or 50 gamers they are profesional athletes and need to play with passion for the game and show at least Auskick smarts with the ball.

Perhaps the mods should develop a policy that limits inexperienced posters or proven incompetents from starting a new thread.

Maybe the OP is talking about the qtr time score of 2 points which someone said was the worst qtr time score ever against the suns. The OP was written at qtr time during the match on Saturday.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

He's had 5.5 years of coaching, and lots of teams have injured players doing rehab, so I reckon it's time for the chop

Yes, Clarko 4 time premiership coach is doing wonders with his list at the moment.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Tue 18 Jun 2019 12:43pmHe's had 5.5 years of coaching, and lots of teams have injured players doing rehab, so I reckon it's time for the chop
Amazing how a few injuries and a loss of some experience and talent can affect a team.

Re: THIS IS WHY RICHO HAS TO GO
yes, time to go..... one win outside of the eight......... 2 more wins for the season than 2018...... horrendous injury list.... Let's not do the sensible thing and let the season play out, before making any decision on the coach, NO, lets do what St Kilda always seem to do... sack the coach mid year and unleash all the crap that goes with such a decision...... YES! that should see us SOARING up the ladder!!! I'm not saying that we should stick with Richardson no matter what, but rather to take a much more measured approach. Firstly by having someone ready to step into the role, or at the very least, have an idea of who we want. With 9 rounds left to play, I say take the calm and reasoned approach.

Re: THIS IS WHY RICHO HAS TO GO
I understand exactly that a great many supporters are unhappy and disappointed at the showing by our club post-Roo & Joey. I was feeling just about as low as I've ever felt at the end of 2018 season, and if AR had been dismissed then would have had no qualms in supporting the decision. However, the club decided to stick with the guy and to bring in Brett Ratten and Brendan Lade. In my humble opinion, even allowing for some awful performances, the overall record for THIS season is one of improvement, the results (and this is very much a results-driven industry) alone show this. The ladder position alone shows this. YES! it's WAY not good enough to take us into September.......BUT, there are signs there that with the return of a few of our established A graders : Carlisle, Steven, Hannebury, along with Webster, Lonie, and a couple more into that squad we have a reasonably good chance to take bigger steps forward in 2020. It may well be, that AR will not have his contract renewed, but it is my honest belief that there is nothing to be gained from sacking the bloke before the season has concluded. Just my opinion, mate.To the top wrote: ↑Tue 18 Jun 2019 1:17pm JS

What a load of bs. You only get yourself a ban if you break forum rules which are against baiting, bullying, insulting or demeaning club offiicals or fellow forumites. To the top wrote: ↑Tue 18 Jun 2019 1:17pm JS

Take out the words "gutless" and "cowardly" and your comments are spot on.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jun 2019 3:20pm The players are responsible for their own mental states and their passion for the game. AFL website referred to us as "soul-less".
And that was how we played - insipid, uninspired.
The gameplan was totally non evident unless it revolves around
- handball to a teammate under the pump
- ignore leads and kick to a contest
- within 80m of goal bomb it long high and to the pocket.
The equation is simple
Hearts weren't in it.
+
Heads couldn't fathom the gameplan.
=
Coach has totally lost them
=
Appoint Ratten as caretaker NOW

I guess the reason I said gutless and cowardly - and it boiled over again this week in the 3rd quarter - was the fear.
The players as a whole seemed afraid. Too scared to care. Too timid to tackle. Too much fright to fight.
Some would say it isn't fear, but it is 100%. Purely psychological. The thinking needed to stand and face the fight is like a small ember landing on a large woodpile...the coaching are the wind that fans the fire and creates a rumbling passion that consumes everything in its path.
We do not have that. I have seen quarters were it began...but not for so long.
When a souless 3rd quarter is played like against Brisbane its either- apathy (they don't care) or fear ( not brave enough to fight) or weak ( too little, No strength, unskilled, under developed)....none of these are good.
