The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: No respect
Stewart Loewe was one of the true giants of AFL. Immensely underrated considering the extraordinary number of contested marks he took on a weekly basis (over his 300+ game career). Unfortunately contemporary statistics do him little justice.cwrcyn wrote: ↑Fri 14 Jun 2019 6:23am The same lack of respect for Stewart Loewe, the greatest contested mark the game has ever seen. Over 300 games and nearly 600 goals from CHF. Rated by Chris Mew and Glen Jakovich as their hardest opponent. Loewe is never mentioned by the footy pundits. it's like his career never happened
His 90 goals in 1996 is testament to a player who re-invented himself to play full forward. Loewe was a powerhouse often contesting against several opponents. He was an EJ Whitten medallist and a 2x All Australian. He absolutely deserves status as a St Kilda and AFL great.

I don’t even think Buckets got the full respect he should have while played. I believe he was second only to Carey through the 90’s at CHF.DownAtTheJunction wrote:Stewart Loewe was one of the true giants of AFL. You are right about contemporary stats, they are no good at showing how good a player really was.
Some moron on Reddit told me that, on stats, Winmar doesn’t deserve a place in the Hall of Fame.
He would be baffled by Barker’s inclusion.

Re: No respect
I think what is forgotten about Milne, because it does not show in the stats, is the number of times he provided the block so Gehrig could lose his opponent on a lead, mark and goal.
It is easier for a small forward to stay in front of the full forward to be front and centre for a spill and goal but Milne could nor be front and centre if he provided the block.

Not quite.HighettMan wrote: ↑Fri 14 Jun 2019 10:34am Context. Ironically Bruce is paying respect during a live call. I'm pretty sure if he was asked to discuss his thoughts on who he thought the all time great small forwards are TR would be mentioned by the great man. No doubt at all.
Loving how he's still working while battling a life threatening illness.
Bwooce paid selected respect and not for the first time I might add leaving out Milne - he has form
Eddie plays for Crows.....no surprises Bwooce was gushing
Context is: it’s right to praise Eddie good player and nice bloke from all reports
How you constantly overlook the games recently retired other all time great small forward mystifies me
Anyway I suspect Milnes supposed tarnished rep doesn’t win him favour ...
Good on Bruce for battling injury - that doesn’t excuse the blatant barracking and imo it’s time to go.

Come on Teflon, harden the f*** up. Who gives a flying f*** what Bwooce thinks. We know how good the TR was.
